Lloyd, Charles -quartet-
Jazz Workshop Boston 1972
The Charles Lloyd Quartet performed at The Jazz Workshop in Boston on December 5, 1972, for a WBCN-FM radio broadcast. This was just a week after the realease of his crossover classic 'Waves' released in that same year. This gig sees Charles Lloyd pivot back to his transcendental brand of acoustic jazz in the company of his quartet featuring the excellent, if little known, guitarist Tom Trujillo. The music is led in equal parts by Lloyd's Coltrane inspired sax and trademark meandering flute. CD includes the entire radio broacast professionally re-mastered, and comes with coloured booklet along with liner notes and many rare archival photographs.
