Heroin
"The PEK are an alternative rock trio which formed in 2007 in Genoa, Italy. the band is intensely inspired by the alternative music explosion of the 90's and the grunge scene, but also by the rough and psychedelic rock typical of the '70s. Their debut album "HEROIN" was released by the genoese independent label taxi driver records on november 2010. The state of physical and existential decline of danny, who's the moody and cynical protagonist, is dealt through seven tracks divided into three acts. "heroin" opens with brilliant riffs and harmonies, and develops exploring more stronger and deeper environments in the second act, ending with a schizophrenic chaos that explodes during "Follow", which is the last track of the album. The artwork, by Sparta, portrays the essence of the album and focuses on the different aspects of the protagonist's addiction and unease, who's a typical stereotype of a deeply selfish and dying society."
