Intercommunal Free Dance Music Orchestra
L'inter Commmunel
In 1971, French free jazz pianist François Tusques founded the Intercommunal Free Dance Music Orchestra to push beyond traditional free jazz. Initially composed of professional jazz musicians, it soon embraced talent from the Musique Populaire Française scene. L'Inter Communal (1976-1978) captures this fusion, featuring Spanish singer Carlos Andreu, who improvised politically charged lyrics. Tracks like Blues Pour Miguel Enriquez pay tribute to revolutionaries, blending influences from France, Spain, the Americas, and Africa. Serious in message but joyful in spirit, the album remains powerfully relevant today.
