Galaxis
Galaxis
Recently unearthed heavy krautrock from 1971-1974, crushing, guitar driven hard rock from Duisburg, Germany. Includes 12 page booklet with large format color photos and liner notes. This LP contains the two Galaxis songs from their highly sought-after private press 7", plus five more previously unreleased tracks sourced from the band's tape archives.
Likevel
The Golden Parrot Tea Room (black)
Debut album by Chicago musical duo Likevel. Psych/folk/rock - or post-grunge outré shoegazey musical exploration? Likevel is the dream world of Jason Mosher and Bridget Hauser, two gen x'ers involved in the Chicago music scene since the 1990's (Mosher was the guitarist in the late-era work of pop phenomenon band Green). Ethereal but subtly heavy, with jangly human themes delivered intimately, Likevel sets off into the future on a dreamship of their own. This is an authentic DIY low-fi endeavor, recorded late at night in an apartment, with some tracks one-take improvisations. "If forced to make comparisons, I'd say that there is an undercurrent of 'Ecstasy And Wine'-era My Bloody Valentine in Hauser's vocals, which to my mind is high praise, as that's some glorious stuff, and being compared to Belinda Butcher is major. I also hear (on certain songs) what reminds me in a tangential way of Galaxie 500 subterranean minor-key grooving. I particularly like the the slow-burn intensity of 'Overseas,' with its soaring and slashing guitar runs, and the openers on both sides ('Marigold Tea' and 'Highbird') are equally wonderful." Altogether dreamy and yet warm, thanks to the mastering by JJ Golden of Golden Mastering, "and in the night light you'll know what's revealed in the glow." "I like it!" ~Suzy Shaw, Bomp!
Mondaze
Linger
Second album by shoegaze band Mondaze. Since forming in 2018, Italy-based Mondaze have defined themselves as "heavy shoegaze", taking inspiration from bands like genre-giants Swervedriver and Ride, but also contemporary bands pushing through the limits of the genre like Nothing and Ringo Deathstarr. With 'Linger,' they aim to amplify the melancholy tones of their frustration and rage. These sonic characteristics drove them to work with Chris Fullard (Idles and Boris) on mixing, and Maurizio Baggio (The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher) for mastering. The result is an album with roots, yet distinctly modern featuring arrangements that skillfully blend contemporary styles with dreamy and eerie atmospheres.
Brethren
Moment Of Truth
Bronx bard Tom Crosgrove got his start in garage rock group Elegant Four, AKA the Elegants, forming Brethren with bassist Stu Woods and drummer Rick Marotta, the unit backing Al Kooper in tandem with their own career; future Bowie keyboardist Mike Garson completed the picture. The great Dr John appeared on their self-titled debut and wrote opener 'Loop Garou' for 'Moment Of Truth,' a heady blend of swamp rock and gospel-tinged blues rock, with fine finishing touches from top NY session players; Crosgrove's rocking guitar riffs and Garson's keyboard melodies really shine. Another lost gem, ripe for rediscovery!
Weinberg, Elyse
Elyse
Canadian singer-songwriter Elyse Weinberg got her start in the Toronto folk underground that birthed Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. Making her way to Los Angeles to visit Young, she shacked up with Cass Elliott of the Mamas & the Papas, whose friend Roy Silver signed her to Tetragrammaton. Backed by local band Touch, debut album Elyse placed medieval folk and psychedelic rock behind her raspy vocals, the unusual arrangements adding strings in places and even sitar. Despite reaching a respectful 31 on the Billboard charts, the glory faded when the label went bust, leaving Weinberg unmoored. A beloved lost gem, finally available again!
Jess & The Ancient Ones
Astral Sabbat (black)
Jess and the Ancient Ones released a three-song EP titled 'Astral Sabbat' on 22 February 2012, recorded with the Swedish sonic wizard Tore Stjerna of Necromorbus Studio in their hometown Kuopio. 'Astral Sabbat' pushed forward the boundaries of the sound established on their first full-length and forging their own path, as personified by the rather unusual choice of cover song 'Long And Lonesome Road,' originally written and recorded by the Dutch rock outfit Shocking Blue, known for their mega-hit 'Venus.' "We wanted to give these works a space entirely their own, so that listeners can focus on them completely. For this purpose, we considered an EP the perfect means. Regarding the surprising choice of cover, I had heard the song at a very young age. And now, after travelling many roads, it returned to me. It is a timeless song and I hope someone discovers Shocking Blue through us," revealed guitarist Thomas Corpse more than 10 years ago. 'Astral Sabbat' proved that Jess and The Ancient Ones were already back then way beyond all those occult, prog or retro-rock tags and playing a game of their own.
Kryss Talmeth Experience
When The Wheels Fall Off
The Kryss Talmeth Experience is a psychedelic stoner blues band based in Edinburgh Scotland, serving up a heady blend of filthy riffage, groovy basslines, swinging rhythms and more fuzz than an illustrated copy of the joy of sex. Formed in late 2016, the band's first foray into the studio came in October 2019 with debut album, 'Buy The Ticket Take The Ride.' The guys then spent the next two years gigging around the UK, honing their signature riff heavy, groove laden sound. 'When The Wheels Fall Off' is a testament to the band's diverse musical background, taking influences from jazz, blues, funk, metal and good old rock'n'roll music with a healthy scoop of grunge thrown in to the mix for good measure. The result is an album thats heavy, atmospheric and groovy in all right places. 200 copies on transparent yellow + green/white/gold splatter vinyl.
Fluitketel
Polder
'Polder' is the 5th album of the Frysian psychedelic kraut electro artist Fluitketel. On the album's first song 'Drylts' there's a slight shift to a more distorted and heavier sound, which brings a more ominous vibe. After that, 'Goenga Loenga,' Fluitketel brings back his trademark kraut sound with hypnotizing repetitive patterns and sounds, combined with monotonous German lyrics. In total there are six songs on this album, of which five songs clock in at about ten minutes each and one song offers some counter balance with only two minutes and twenty seconds of playtime. As with his previous albums, it feels like the perfect soundtrack for a long midnight deserted highway roadtrip.

Ctmf
For Your Love/shapes Of Things/a Certain Boy
CTMF (The Chatham Forts) was the first group name Billy Childish came up with for a group whilst he was Head of Research for The Medway Military Research Group - investigating the Medway Fortifications (as well as being an Apprentice Stonemason at Chatham Dockyard, Kent, 1976). It wasn't until 2013 that Billy got around to utilising the name. CTMF features his wife Julie on bass/vocals and Wolf Howard on drums (both playing with Billy in previous incarnations over the years). CTMF - described by Billy as `the epitome of modern: the sound of yesterday, tomorrow!', CTMF have released ten albums and over thirty singles/EPs. Come September 2024, The CTMF found themselves in the studio, the tape machine running. Quick as you like Julie (bass) suggested they record three of her favourite 'hits' from The Yardbirds song book. Precision bass in hand, and taking lead vocals (with their 14 year old kid Atticus on backing vocals), The CTMF got to work, thus revealing these manley Yardbirds ditty's are gems for the female voice also. Top marks! 'For Your Love' takes Face A, with 'Shapes Of Things' and 'A Certain Boy' for Face B. Limited to 500 copies.
Bouzida, Nasser
Mr Bongo Man
Nasser Bouzida is a self-taught musician who has been playing and composing since the ripe age of 15. He made his TV debut on 'Saturday Superstore' when he was just 12 years old. Starting his journey on his mum's pots and pans, she eventually bought him a drum kit, and he slowly started playing percussion, bass guitar, piano and keyboards, eventually moving on to production and mixing too. Nass formed the ska band The Loafers with his school mates when he was just 15. They backed Laurel Aitken for two years and regularly supported Desmond Dekker and Bad Manners. He has since played in groups such as Skooby, Espadrille and currently Big Boss Man (with his life-long friend Trevor Harding), also recently releasing a solo reggae/roots/ska album under the pseudonym Big Boss Sound. Nasser has also contributed on recordings from Morcheeba, Prince Fatty, Holly Golightly and The Link Quartet to name a few, also collaborating with Fay Hallam, remixing Paul Weller's version of 'The Bottle' (the Big Boss Man remix), and is also a visual artist. Following Nasser's solo 7" and LP releases in 2023, here again we see multi-instrumentalist Nasser Bouzida in his purest form... 'Mr Bongo Man' is a dance floor smash, with two versions for choice, along with a selection of the effects and scratches for your very own artistic expression. Limited to 300 copies.
Fadeaways
The Fadeaways
Since their inception in Tokyo in 2005, The Fadeaways have not just played music; they've orchestrated a garage punk rock revolution, deeply infused with the raw energy of '60s garage punk and '70s punk trash. The trio are a spectacle of high energy, garage, pop, and punk music brilliance, dressed in matching '60s Europop-inspired outfits that scream style as loud as their music. Each show is an adrenaline-fueled experience where Toyozo (vocals and bass) often finds himself leaping onto the kick drum, belting out tunes while perched atop the heaving drum. Ozzy (drums) isn't one to stay behind, melding his drumming with astonishing handstands on his kit. And Assman (guitar) embodies the spirit of Japanese rock, leaping through the air and, in one unforgettable moment, skulling a bottle of Asahi handed to him by an audience member - all without missing a beat on his guitar. Here is their 2024 full lenght, carved in fuzz, with some classic covers and some originals to make you head blowing in!

Societe Etrange
Au Revoir
Les Disques Bongo Joe is reissuing 'Au Revoir,' the debut album by Société Étrange, originally released in 2015 on the Lyon-based label S.K. Records, and now considered a cult classic. This Lyon trio, composed of Antoine Bellini (electronics), Romain Hervault (bass), and later joined by Jonathan Grandcollot (percussion), explores a minimalist instrumental soundscape, where repetition and tension play a central role. 'Au Revoir' was created with a raw and intuitive approach, mostly composed during the group's earliest days. At the time, Antoine and Romain were working as a duo, experimenting with drum machines and electronic sounds inspired by the post-punk of the '80s, the robotic grooves of Neu! and Cluster, and the DIY spirit of early hip-hop. The result is a music that is both hypnotic and introspective, where the presence and absence of sonic elements balance with minimal precision. Between electronic layers and winding bass lines, the tracks move forward like on a foggy road, uncertain but captivating. This reissue is more than just a re-release of an out-of-print album. It is a testament to the evolution of Société Étrange, a group that blurs genre boundaries, seamlessly blending post-punk, krautrock, dub, and electronic minimalism. With 'Au Revoir,' the trio crafts a singular instrumental sound, where each note seems to carry a unique weight and intention, borrowing equally from abstraction and narrative.
Candymouse
The Light Just Bends
First album by Candymouse. All members of the band are related with the post C86 bands The Candy Darlings and Mousefolk.
Spo-dee-o-dee (nl)
1989
Spo-Dee-O-Dee, were, with their average age of 19 years, the teenagers of the so-called 'Amsterdam Guitar School.' Fore-runners were Fatal Flowers and still active Claw Boys Claw. The year, and yes the title of this album: '1989.' The band is making a latterday return visit to their first label: Utrecht's Kelt Records. The track 'Girl In The Park' was originally released on a compilatiom EP and the debut single 'Stand Up' was a big radio hit with the alternative radio programme 'Nozems-A-Gogo' and enjoyed heavy rotation on national radio. And heavy was the word for this power trio. Influenced by seventies rockbands but always with an ear for what was going on at the time. On this CD of their first recordings, you'll hear the three released single-sides, five previously unreleased tracks and two alternative versions of songs they recorded for the debut album 'Going Walkabout.'
Pastel Waves
Between Midnight And Morning
The Pastel Waves are a Medway-based indie band who fuse their collective influences of new wave, indie and Brit pop. With a full line-up in 2017, it was actually 2015 that Rob Percy and Chris Parsons (previous members of Medway band Speedwell) began writing new material together. Soon after, they knew they was onto something with this new project, and thus invited Joe Liste Romero and Mike Grigson (previous members of Medway band The Ambience) to join to add drums and vocals to the songs' bare bones. Their debut album 'All Things To All People' was released in March 2019 on Trouserphonic Records, with a follow-up digital single 'Ten,' and the CD EP 'I Hate Myself For Wanting It' in May 2020. In April 2021, the band released 'The Influencers EP' on vinyl via Spinout Nuggets, with four strong tracks, each receiving enough attention to force them to continue recording. The band released their second album, 'Back In The Land Of The Living', in 2022, also receiving much interest. A limited lathe cut 7" was released in 2023. The Pastel Waves found themselves in The Moon Studio, under the hands of Rob Grigg (ex-The Dentists, currently These Guilty Men), with some time to gain four songs for two continuous grooves, including strings and arrangements by The Pastel Waves, Richard Moore and Clementine Canpont. Limited to 250 copies.

Piramis
1979. Ix. 23. Bip (2cd)
Piramis were the most popular hard rock group behind the Iron Curtain in the late '70s. One of their most memorable gigs was played in September 1979, at Buda Youth Park, Hungary. Half of the program was released on a live LP just after the show, and it became a legendary material. The remaining tracks are unreleased to this day, but here's the (almost) full recording of the gig. Piramis' music is exciting and complex at the same time - and still a gem today!
Callisto
True Nature Unfolds (2lp/black)
Callisto is a post-metal band from Turku, Finland formed in 2001. They've headlined several tours in Europe, opened for High On Fire on their UK tour, and showcased in Canada and the United States. Whilst their early works are hardcore and metal, the debut album 'True Nature Unfolds' has a strong sludge metal and doom influence. It was recorded in 2004 by the late Mieszko Talarczyk (Nasum) and introduced to Earache Records a year later through Johannes Persson (Cult Of Luna), earning the band worldwide distribution. 'True Nature Unfolds' was originally released only on CD in 2004 by Fullsteam Records in Finland and Earache Records in the US and UK a year later. The album delivers a breathtaking mix of atmospheric soundscapes, heavy riffs, and haunting melodies. Each track invites you on an emotional journey, blending post-metal intensity with introspective lyricism. Don't miss this powerful musical experience - let the journey begin! The 20th anniversary edition of 'True Nature Unfolds' is presented on double vinyl in a glorious gatefold cover, with new album art by the band's drummer Ariel Björklund.
Pestigore
Rotten Bowel Of Pestigore (black)
Classic Finnish grinding death metal demos by Pestigore compiled together for the first time ever on vinyl via Svart Records! Take a vomit-soaked time machine back to the early days of truly ghoulish death metal with the putrid sounds of these five demos spanning from 1991-1992. 'Rotten Bowel Of Pestigore,' originally released only on CD through Headsplit Records in 2023, holds all the recorded material of Pestigore before the band's untimely disbandment in 1993, plus rare photos and liner notes from vocalist Kari Kräkin. Killer stuff and essential listening for fans of classic death metal.
JAZZ/AVANTGARDE
Harris, Eddie
Smokin'
Innovative tenor saxophonist/composer Eddie Harris brought the electric sax to prominence and many know him for 'Freedom Jazz Dance,' which Miles Davis recorded in 1966. 1970's 'Smokin'' was probably culled from earlier Vee Jay sessions, but whatever the case the LP is a beautiful blend of soul jazz, hard bop and outré influences that contrasts later work for Atlantic. High points include an alternate of the moody 'Oliphant Gesang,' the relaxed 'Indonesia,' the vibraphone-heavy 'Sounds At The Archway' and 'Step Da Co Eel Waltz,' and the appealing groove of 'Ed's Blues.' A must for all Eddie Harris fans and lovers of soul jazz hybrids.

Illustration
Illustration
Eleven-piece Canadian big-band jazz-rock powerhouse Illustration toured the US in 1969, supporting Ike & Tina Turner, Miles Davis and Funkadelic, with soulful lead singer Billy Ledster backed by a six-man horn section. This self-titled debut, released by Janus in 1970, captures the group in all their multifaceted glory: 'Upon The Earth' and 'I Don't Want To Cry' are soulful stompers reminiscent of Blood, Sweat and Tears and the better efforts of Chicago; 'Home' is a sentimental lament with gospel overtones and 'Thelicia' an emotive stunner. This album of rare beauty is deserving of a wider audience - get your copy now to learn why!
Hughes, Rhetta
Re-light My Fire
Dallas-born soul singer Rhetta Hughes began her career in a lounge act with pianist Tennyson Stephens; a move to Chicago led to a debut LP for Columbia. In 1968 she was discovered by Bill Cosby, who signed her to his Tetragrammaton label; debut single `You're Doing It With Her' nearly cracked the R&B top 40, the breakthrough coming in a one-off psychedelic soul recasting of the Doors' `Light My Fire.' Both singles appeared on Re-Light My Fire, a rarity that changes hands for top dollars, and the rest of the album is just as good, Mike Terry's tasteful arrangements drawing out the best of Hughes' abilities. A great listen for soul fans!

Bongo A-go-go (+cd)
Bongo A-Go-Go!!! Bygosh, but of course! How isit that El Vidocq had never beforecast a spell upon this percussively practical instrument? Indeed, though modest in size, the sonorous bongo is rather difficult to ignore. Ever groovy andconvivial, thisinstrument straightoutof the '50sand'60s is readilyassociated with QuentinTarantino, not to mention Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band. But as always, our southwestern Frenchselector has proudly unearthed a few rare nuggets, digging deep into his ridiculous collection of original 45s toproposesome sumptuous exotica,OST-flavored pop, R'n'B and R'n'R, bongo boogie, mambo and cha-cha-cha, pulsating swing... And onceagain, Marcel Bontempi has produced a jacket ofmarvelous eye candy. Boom Bam Da Boom, it's time to turn upthevolume and wiggle one'sfanny to these fantastic arrangements!

Mighty Cavaliers
Fisherman
The second Want Some Record release is the first album of The Mighty Cavaliers from Kenya. It's a bit unusual that it is not coming in the original order of release, but that's how they got their hands on both records. Anyway, this record is another masterpiece of Kenyan funk-influenced music at its best. The songwriting is not from just one musician; every musician contributed songs and music, which makes it very special. You can hear the different musical influences, and every track has its own personality. 'Fisherman' was released twice before, in 1976 and 1978. Now, its time to spread this wonderful music to the world again in a very limited edition of only 500 pieces, with a brand new cover design by Santi Pozzi.
