Kawaguchi, Masami -'s New Rock Syndicate-
Blind Haze/hydochloric Disco/break Through
Masami Kawaguchi is one of the finest psych rock guitarists to emerge from Japan this century. As well as being a solo performer and playing in bands with members of Les Rallizes Denudes and Acid Mothers Temple, Masami has established his own band, New Rock Syndicate. This is a vehicle for Masami's original songs and those penned by members of the band. New Rock Syndicate has released 8 albums via European, US, Australian, New Zealand and Japanese labels. 'Blind Haze' represents an Australian iteration of New Rock Syndicate with Rocket Science's Dave Gray and Fraudband's Don Drum. This lineup toured Australia in 2018 and again nationally in 2019. They recorded this 7" EP during lockdowns.
Sons Of Alpha Centauri/treasure Cat
Last Day Of Summer (2lp/black/blue)
'Last Day Of Summer' is the creation and merging of two pioneering instrumental rock bands from both sides of the Atlantic. The album is both a split and collaboration being the first of its kind when released. Sons Of Alpha Centauri blend psychedelic and ambient elements to create a hypnotic harmonic pulse to form the body of a vast electronic riff rock instrumental soundscapes. Treasure Cat morphed from the ashes of instrumental legends Karma To Burn in 2003 to form an undeniable blend of driving rock hooks and sonic riffs to create a supercharged rock experience. In 2007 both bands collaborated to write and record a trilogy of new tracks together to form for the first time ever a solely instrumental hard rock super group. Together with four songs provided by each act the result is a pure instrumental head trip that never lets up and refuses to let go! Featuring new artwork from Alex von Welding and for the first time the original demos from the Alpha Cat and Sons Of Alpha Centauri sessions. Only a handful available, so be fast!

Planet Of Zeus
Afterlife
'Afterlife' - Planet of Zeus's sixth album finds them reinventing themselves rather than the wheel. After their prophetic, pre-Covid release 'Faith In Physics' and the consecutive postponements of their European and North American tours, the band took a deep dive into its own vulnerability and managed to come back stronger and more dangerous than ever before. No matter how far humanity and technology has reached, people always seem to be puzzled by the same old questions. From the ancient Greek philosophers, to Dostoevsky, Hesse and the average bloke on the corner. A blend of failed relationships, parenthood, sobriety, the constant search for a higher purpose and the thin line between "beneficence and rascality" with a unique and adventurous modern heavy rock sound, 'Afterlife' is a perfect musical representation of the beauty and the curse of the human condition. A heavy rock must-have for fans of Queens Of The Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Mastodon, Clutch, Monster Magnet, Hellacopters and Royal Blood.

GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL
Ka-nives
Get Duped!
Reissue of this classic Budget Rock (TM) record. The Ka-Nives - 'Get Duped!' LP came out on Lance Rock Records in 2006. Lance Rock was a household name back then, they released a bunch of not so bad records (Mono Men, Gas Huffer, McRackins, The Onyas, Bum, A-Bones, Subsonics et cetera.), but they only did 300 copies of before mentioned album! Crazy! So here you have 500 more copies! True replica of the OG pressing, including the BIG insert/zine - Bachelor did not work on the audio quality of course! It's still the same messy, loud and beersoaked NOISE like it was intended to be! They even had to pay the pressing plant to do their worst job ever! This is simple, stupid BUDGET ROCK at its best, with true '90s flavour and nonsense in every corner of this release. Try it!
Falling Sugar
Falling Sugar
Bachelor saw that Toyozo Toyoshima, the guy who seems to be a key figure in the current Japanese garage rock scene, and player in many many bands such as The Fadeaways, Angel Face, The Rhythm Aces, Nervous Hearts, Nikki & The Tokyo Corvettes, Paul Collins Beat, Lyres Tokyo... posted something about a CD his new band Falling Sugar put out on a label called Fuzzy Pals Records. They asked him to send them the tracks - and they were amazing! The expectations were high, but these songs even topped them. An album full of cozy sugary pop songs with a lot of uuhs and aaaahs and earworms galore! For fans of Budda Records and Kama Sutra Records, an album full of upbeat style pop songs with some cover versions of course (1910 Fruitgum Company, Velvet Underground, Makeout Party...) and many original songs.
Batman & The Salzburger Nockerl
Birra Pipistrello
After the 'Hero-In' single Bachelor released in June 2024, here is another 7-inch single from the world's greatest superhero! This time NOT released on Bachelor Records. This is a promotional single for beer and a certain rollerderby team. It was in 2007 when Bachelor put out the first single of Batman, way back then he was just a noisy duo, with is comrade Robin. With this recording he has gathered a smelly group of people around him who call themselves Mighty Anti-Heros. It's no less than Green Hornet on guitar, Wonderwoman on bass and Ghost Rider pounding the skins. All other Batman vinyl records sold out in a wink, so why should this not be happening here as well? You guys and gals NEED nasty primitive garage punk like this, and you KNOW it! It has not been officially revealed who played on the tracks on this single, but it sounds and feels like there were some semi-professionals involved this time. Side 1 is 'Birra Pipistrello,' written, recorded and produced only to promote his own brand of beer, Birra Pipistrello, which will soon be a household name, not only in Gotham City, also in Sardinia, Mallorca, Oktoberfest and similar Tutto Gas event cities. Side 2 'Salzburg Knock-Outs' and 'R.H.I.N.O.S.' are TWO songs about the worlds best rollerderby team, the Salzburg Knockouts a.k.a. The Rhinos). The single will be released officially at the 6th Austrian Rollerderby Championships, hosted in the city off Salzburg, Austria!
So What
Hit The Bricks
Back with a bang! The 2024 single from Oakland's only rock'n'roll band. This comes hot on the heels of their triumphant return to Gonerfest. So What picks up right where they left off with their previous 'Deep Freeze' single, another banger inspired by '70s Aussie rock a la Bon Scott-era AC/DC and Coloured Balls. The lads even offered 'Hit The Bricks' to AC/DC, but they passed, saying, "No mates, it's simply too good. Everyone will know we didn't write it." Real rock'n'roll for real rock'n'roll people.

Taeger, Vincent -et Le Jazz Kamasutra-
Ok Crooner
Back in the day, when he was the drummer for Poni Hoax, Vincent Taeger would sing in French whatever came to his mind backstage after concerts, just for fun, to amuse his friend the late Nicolas Ker. Since then, time has flown by, undoubtedly bringing its share of ups and downs. Nonetheless, today, this artist with a long career is finally releasing his debut album as a singer, 'OK Crooner.' It's indeed an album for a singer, but also one for a musician. For this part, Taeger doesn't come alone; he brings along the Jazz Kamasutra, a sexy sextet that knows how to play everything and will later accompany him on stage. To get to this point, Vincent Taeger had to stop playing around with big names like Air, Damon Albarn, Justice, Lenny Kravitz, Skepta, Tony Allen, Oumou Sangaré, Jeff Mills, Archie Shepp, Sampa the Great, Andrea Laszlo de Simone... More than half of the major artists with whom he once collaborated, contributing to their albums or simply laying down a drum, bass, or any other heavy instrument line. Before 'OK Crooner,' he also transformed into Tiger Tigre. This roaring alias was used for a first solo album, instrumental and so deep that one might have thought the ghost of François de Roubaix had taken shape. But that was before. Before this exceptional musician decided to dive into the vast ocean of French variety to give a sequel, a culmination to this project.

Gray, Garry -& Sacred Cowboys-
Cowboy Logic (2cd)
Sacred Cowboys began in 1982 as a supergroup with founders Garry Gray from seminal new wave outfit Negatives and Mark Ferrie from the Models. Purloining the band name from Get Smart and the Groovy Guru, the Cowboys left the Countdown set with Molly announcing that they were "...the worst band I've seen in 5 years..." Many have ridden with the Sacred Cowboys over the years live and in the studio since the early days. Now, in 2024, the supergroup tradition resumes seeing Garry and Mark reforming Sacred Cowboys with Timothy Deane, Anthony Paine and Damien Fitzgerald completing the new lineup. This live return coincides with the release of the 'Cowboy Logic' anthology by Garry Gray and Sacred Cowboys. The outfit are looking to start writing a new Sacred Cowboys album and are playing live to fully immerse in the Sacred Cowboys roots. Disc 1 could be a stand-alone album - the connecting thread with these songs is 'Cowboy Logic.' Disc 1 kicks off with Sacred Cowboys studio album tracks from the '80s line up, on to the '90s and 2000s with Spencer P. Jones and Penny Ikinger joining the group. Disc 1 winds up with tracks from Garry's post Cowboys work with Spencer P. Jones and later Ed Clayton-Jones. Disc 2 is a live bonus disc which kicks off with a live show from 1994 when Spencer joined the Cowboys. It's straight off the desk but you get the energy. This is followed by a rather low fi but fun few tracks from the Cowboys live in 2006 with Spencer and Penny on guitars and Ash Wednesday on keys. Disc 2 concludes with a studio outtake from 2006 - a raw power version of 'Bangkok 2006' with Garry, Spencer, Penny, Stephan Fidock and Nick Rischbieth and this gives you a clearer idea of what the 2006 outfit sounded like.
Skinner, Gareth
Off//axis
Gareth is renowned for playing integral roles in some of the '90s most 'out there' acts in Bzark and The Ergot Derivative as well as being a go to guest musician for ARIA topping albums by Powderfinger, Bertie Blackman, Something For Kate, Gotye, Wagons and many more. In recent years as well as being a full time member of The Sand Pebbles, Gareth Skinner has been developing his own music. The result is this debut band album, 'Off // Axis,' a record which cleverly crosses from elevated, grunge to Arthur Russell-esque haunting pop. From a very wide choice of musicians Gareth has hand picked a crème of Melbourne musicians to form this band - Ben Michael X (The Sand Pebbles), Suzie Lou and Drew Caldwell (Disaster Plan/Breather Hole), Joel Silbersher and Sarah Blaby (Double Vanity) as a member of the live band.
Get Smart!
Action Reaction
Special 40th anniversary reissue of a true gem from 1984. Get Smart! were a band from Lawrence (Kansas), who masterfully combined punk, post-punk and alt rock like very few others. This album is full of nervous, raw, rocking energy, making for a thrilling Midwestern post-punk masterpiece. Features remastered artwork and audios, a bonus track song and insert with exclusive interview with the band.
Plastic Bag
Dead Kings Of Europe
Plastic Bag is an art rock/post-punk three piece based in Bristol. U.K. Formed in 2023 by Steve Dew, Philip Bond and Jim Johnston and featuring Mark Vasey on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, inspired by classic bands such as Television, Wire and Gang Of Four. Phil's darkly poetic lyrics weave through intricate instrumentation lead by the incomparable guitar work of Jim Johnston. Synths and vintage beat boxes form subtle grooves driven by the powerful rhythm section of Phil Bond and Steve Dew. The album addresses such issues as government corruption, the futility of war, corporate fascism and the hopelessness of the British political and class system.

Pitchshifter
Peel Sessions 1991-93
The first ever release of Pitchshifter's legendary BBC sessions for the late, great John Peel. These ultra heavy industrial metal tracks were recorded over two sessions at the iconic Maida Vale studios: 28th April 1991 and 30th March 1993 and were sourced directly from the BBC Archives. The 1991 session was recorded during the same period as 'Industrial' (Deaf Records/Peaceville), with the 1993 session recorded around the time of 'Desensitized' (Earache). Founded in Nottingham in 1989, Pitchshifter's early style was heavy industrial metal, being cited as one of the originators of the genre along with Godflesh - a style which they termed "death industrial." These sessions and albums mark the end of that classic period, before a shift towards the more commercial, beat-driven industrial style from the mid-'90s onward that they are still known for.

Gardner, Louis
For The Open Room
London based songwriter Louis Gardner offers his first mixtape, released via Goldsmith's University imprint NX Records. On 'For The Open Room,' Gardner spirals artfully through outsider jazz, pop, folk and noise, landing sprawled in a territory all his own.
Codex Empire
Rotten Fodder
Vienna-based producer Mahk Rumbae - one half of the industrial/experimental duo Konstruktivists and the force behind Codex Empire - unleashes his EP 'Rotten Fodder' on Trauma Collective. This four-track weapon fuses raw, dark energy with cerebral soundscapes, pushing the limits of both sound design and rhythmic intensity. The EP kicks off with 'Oracular Soul,' a relentless, pulsating techno opener that sets an uncompromising tone. 'Commissioner Of Grief' follows, a dystopian "arabesque" journey packed with atmospheric tension and heavy beats. On the flip side, 'Force The Tools Available' draws you into razor-sharp industrial breaks that grip and mesmerize from start to finish. Closing it all out is 'Maelstrom Of Shit,' an apocalyptic ride of syncopated drums and chaotic soundscapes, leaving a brutal, lasting impact.
Velvet Parade
Ghost
Naarm noir rock quintet Velvet Parade has been described as "A sprightly frolic through classic Australian musical landscapes that are at once fanciful and nostalgic but redolent more of urban decay on the outskirts of town than the windswept plains of cattle and cane lauded by renowned bands of yore." ~Burning Vinyl radio show. In their first year Velvet Parade have supported internationals Vorsen (NZ), Buddhadatta (Japan) and Cambodian Space Project as well as local luminaries Harry Howard and The Sand Pebbles. Now this exciting new band share their brand of Australian gothic with their debut release 'Ghost' mixed and mastered by Loki Lockwood (Spooky Records).
Dsr Lines
Iii-ii
Through the course of time, DSR Lines (David Edren) never loses his intimate and profound connection to the universe of modular synths. These recordings made during 2014 in a residence at the Cem/Worm studio in Rotterdam, represent a further magical compendium of his Organic Electronic Music. In particular, here he draws from his expressive arsenal the cosmic and galactic potential of the Arp 2500, which happily floating throughout. A rigorous magician of vaporous, oscillating patterns, sidereal frequencies, nebulous dust; an explorer of inter-zonal paths, he unveils new dreamlike dimensions en route to unfold planets. Between Kraut-Kosmische accelerations and a personal approach of gentle minimalism, he always forges rare atmospheres of rhythmic pulsation, full of enveloping, spherical and spiralling sounds, luminous and radiant in their hypnotic aura, or magnificently ecstatic and ascending. Originally released by Ultra Eczema.
Nono, Luigi/quartetto Maurice
Fragmente-stille, An Diotima
On the centenary of the birth of Luigi Nono, the Maurice Quartet - Georgia Privitera (violin), Laura Bertolino (violin), Francesco Vernero (viola) and Aline Privitera (cello) - reinterprets the composition for string quartet by the Venetian composer: 'Fragmente-Stille, An Diotima,' dedicated to LaSalle Quartet on the occasion of the thirtieth Beethovenfest in Bonn, in 1980. The driving force of inspiration must have been Beethoven, understood as a radical innovator of the conventions of his time. This same definition was attributed to Nono after composing this work, so much so that the critics of the time spoke of the "turning point work". An extreme chamber music work, at the same time private and political, which Nono himself summarized as follows: "I have not changed at all. Even tenderness, the private, has its collective, political side. Therefore my String Quartet is not the expression of a new retrospective line in me, but rather my current position of experimentation: I want the great, rebellious affirmation with the minimum means." The edition includes a set of evocative photographs of the Giudecca in Venice - which follow the aesthetics of the fragment - realized by Sophie-Anne Herin and a precious musicological contribution by Francesca Scigliuzzo. The Maurice Quartet - active for more than twenty years in the field of experimentation between contemporary music, electronics and multimedia - joins the numerous homages that the world of music pays to Nono one hundred years after his birth with a recording work of great philological and interpretative relevance, aimed at capturing the most intimate and feverish side of one of the most significant composers of the last century. Edition of 300 copies, gold foil printed sleeve, includes 12-page booklet and two leporello inserts printed on translucent paper.
Penso, Andrea
Oh! Uomo
Limited vinyl edition of two beautiful tape-loop pieces by Andrea Penso (Italy, 1985), previously released on tape by Canti Magnetici. 'Oh! Uomo (Parte I)' is a composition based on a fragment of Béla Bartók's 'Der Stampfer (Stamping Dance),' from his folk music studies. The opening sequence, recorded on magnetic tape, was cut and transformed into a tape loop, then manipulated analogically and digitally to change its tone and progression. 'Oh! Uomo (Diaspora)' consists of two overlapped and manipulated tape loops: the former created from an Armenian folk melody for harmonium solo recorded in the early 20th century, the latter from a modern dance audio cassette, found by chance in a van parking lot in Turin. This piece, deeply inspired by the work of Angela Ricci Lucchi and Yervant Gianikian, is dedicated to them. Mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi. "What I love are not the pieces, but the repetitions, the protractions; to proceed slowly on my way, to come back, back to the same thing, being a litany, litany as life, to stay long there before ending, not willing to make music of a man - and above all of a composer, and and above all of a westerner - but rather music of a sparrow, a quite indecisive sparrow perched on a branch, a sparrow trying to call a man..." (Henri Michaux). Limited edition of 100 copies, burnt/engraved title.

Pentagram
Lightning In A Bottle
Between records like 'Relentless' and 'Show 'Em How,' Pentagram have never wanted for self-awareness in terms of album titles. The gauntlet thrown down by 'Lightning In A Bottle' is very much in this tradition. The 10th Pentagram album sees founding frontman and doom figurehead Bobby Liebling leading a new cast of players that includes guitarist/producer Tony Reed (Mos Generator, Big Scenic Nowhere, etc.), drummer Henry Vasquez (Legions Of Doom, Saint Vitus, Blood Of The Sun, etc.) and bassist Scooter Haslip (Mos Generator, Saltine). It would be hard to overstate the energy the new band brings to songs like 'Live Again,' 'Solve The Puzzle' or 'In The Panic Room,' but 'Lightning In A Bottle' is unmistakably a Pentagram record, of course in Liebling's unremittingly charismatic performance and the groove conjured to back it. Recorded with Reed at the helm, 'Lightning In A Bottle' recalls the best of what has allowed Pentagram to cast an influence across decades and generations of musicians, bands, and worshippers of Riff, and as just their third studio release in the last 15 years, it's not a moment to neglect as they dig into a cut like 'Dull Pain' or 'Lady Heroin,' the latter of which is a naked reconciliation on the part of Liebling with a lifelong addiction to opiates that's become an inextricable part of the Pentagram story. As he wonders in the lyrics, "Lady Heroin, have I seen the last of you?" it becomes difficult to know whether the separation would be through sobriety or death, and that ambiguity becomes part of what makes the song so striking. It's not all brooding, even if it is doom. 'Thundercrest' is brash and the nodding title-track brings to mind past glories without actually reliving them. The central message, any way you want to look at it, is that no matter how much the band has been through over the last half-century-plus, they remain a singular force. 'Lightning In A Bottle' might not be the first Pentagram reboot, but it brings fresh ideas and dynamic to one of doom's most classic, formative acts, and as soon as you hit play, the band absolutely own the moment of their own making.

Edition of 500 copies on aqua blue vinyl.

Black vinyl 180g made only in 100 numbered copies. This record is different. It is different from what might be expected of Jan Emil Mlynarski by those who know him, from sold-out shows and platinum albums of his bands - Jazz Band Mlynarski - Masecki and Warsaw Dance Combo.
Brotzmann, Peter -& Paal Nilssen-love-
Butterfly Mushroom
Second volume of the perfect pairing Brötzmann & Nilssen-Love, recorded at Zuiderpershuis in Antwerp, August 2015. The music is less frenzied and aggressive than we're used to, as the musicians shared their exploration of new tools with a more contemplative approach. To be sure, both Brötzmann and Nilssen-Love summon the usual energy here and there, but it's a genuine revelation to hear them feel out new sounds in real-time, whether it's the former caressing the rheumy nasality of the contra-alto clarinet, or the latter reveling in the sustained resonance of his new gongs. Still, even if they were trying out new tools, their rapport and level of engagement was just as strong and deep as ever. Colliding schedules prevented them from ever wrapping up the production on the album, but they began planning for it during the pandemic. Sadly, it fell to Nilssen-Love to shepherd the project at home, but it was worth the wait. This duo album represents a major statement from both musicians. Peter Brötzmann: tarogato, contra-alto clarinet, bass saxophone, Paal Nilssen-Love: drums, gongs, percussion.

Sanders, Pharoah
Love In Us All
Reissueof 1974 album as special gatefold edition including original artwork. Few will need introduction to the work of Pharoah Sanders. He is a titan with few equivalents in histories of free and spiritual jazz. The creator of some of the most important and singular records in these fields, Sanders, who was once described by Ornette Coleman as "probably the best tenor player in the world," is equally noted for his work with artists like John Coltrane, as a member of his groundbreaking final quintet, Alice Coltrane, Leon Thomas, Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, and Sun Ra, often rendering a remarkable influence over the results.
Evans, Bill
Further Conversations With Myself
A follow up to the similarly-titled 'Conversations With Myself' album recorded several years before - and like that one, a record that has Bill Evans playing "with" himself, via the technology of overdubs! The album's less a solo album, than a duet one - given that most of the numbers feature Evans working between melody and rhythm on overlapping piano lines - creating a mini chorus of pianos that sounds totally great, and wonderfully unique! Originally released in 1967.
Weedevil

With design by Amado himself, the CD is an aesthetic experience that complements the music's raw, expressive quality.
Futterman, Joel
Innervoice
Joel Futterman's 'Innervoice' CD is a deep, spiritual journey that transcends traditional jazz boundaries, filled with what critic William Parker calls "celestial blues." Futterman's improvisational prowess shines as he weaves melodies grounded in love, peace, and a constant evolution of sound. 'Innervoice' explores an evolving musical landscape where each note is guided by a soulful, introspective force, while the album's sonic quality highlights the nuances of Futterman's emotive playstyle. The CD stunning design by Danas Mikailionis is complemented by Martynas Ivinskas's painting, which adds a visual counterpart to the album's themes of beauty and resilience, and Michael Wilderman's photography, capturing Futterman's essence. This release is both a powerful personal statement and a testament to the transformative power of jazz.
Parker, William/hugo Costa/philipp Ernsting
Pulsar
The NoBusiness CD 'Pulsar' brings together the legendary double bassist William Parker, alto saxophonist Hugo Costa, and drummer Philipp Ernsting for an intense, genre-defying exploration recorded live at Codarts in Rotterdam on October 11, 2023. Known for pushing the boundaries of jazz, Parker joins forces with Costa and Ernsting, both accomplished experimental musicians, to create a raw, improvisational journey marked by rhythmic depth, intricate textures, and powerful synergy. 'Pulsar' captures each instrumental nuance in vivid clarity. The cover art by Martynas Ivinskas complements the album's bold soundscape, while the design by Danas Mikailionis presents a clean yet striking aesthetic. The album gives an intimate look at the musicians, adding a personal touch to the album's visual presentation. One of the most legendary voices in grime, Footsie is without a doubt a true don. From his early link up with fellow Newham General D Double E to his solo output, the influence of sound system culture has always been prevalent. Having grown up as the son of a system operator obviously had a deep impact, so much so that he now runs Father Waz's renowned King Original Sound himself, playing roots reggae and dub.

Natalie
Free/wishing On A Star
Deniece Williams' refreshingly cool cover is reissued in a Japanese delusion-jacketed edition! This is a great cover of the mellow classic soul "Free" released in early 2000 by Natalie, a singer with a charming falsetto voice. Side B boldly covers Rose Royse's soul classic 'Wishing On A Star.' The beat is fast and furious, and the melody is mysterious. Both sides of this single are remarkable.
Fisher, Edward
The Promise
Rare 1985 session from guitarist Eddie Fisher, the East St. Louis native whose best known for the jazz/funk albums 'The Next One Hundred Years' and 'The Third Cup.' Fisher, who died in 2007, never really achieved major stardom, but has become a cult figure over the last years, thanks in large part to DJs and crate diggers who discovered his music and spread the word. Perhaps the most obscure item in his catalog, 'The Promise' was issued only on vinyl in 1985 on Fisher's own Nentu label and has been out of print for years . Boogie jazz funk at its best. Licensed by Christina Fisher.
Duo Ouro Negra
Danca Do Robalinho
Milo MacMahon and Raúl Indipwo, arrived to Portugal in 1959 and, over next three decades, they developed an international career in the music industry. In addition to Portuguese and the various Angolan languages, the group recorded songs such as 'Sylvie,' 'La Kwela' and 'Le Palmier' in French, among others, and also covered Latin American, Spanish-speaking, Brazilian and even North American repertoires, where on their various tours they came into contact with the struggle for the Civil Rights of the black population. In 1969 Duo Ouro Negro went on tour to the United States. Their experience there was decisive for what we would come to know three years later. "Don't forget your blackground", Raul Indipwo would exclaim in 1972, the voice of 'Blackground,' the Angolan band's landmark album. Awakened to the activism of Black Power, attentive to the jazz that was being created on American soil, combined with an interest in the independence movements of the African colonies, what was then the most international of Portuguese bands recorded an album in Lisbon that was a vibrant cultural statement through music. In 1981, 'Blackground' was revised with new arrangements, including the instrumental 'Dança Do Robalinho.' Jazz-funk at its best and now reissued for the first time in 7" format. You can't miss this jazz-funk gem made in Angola. Licensed by Ana Vitória Pereira.
Temptations
Puzzle People
Produced entirely by Norman Whitfield, The Temptations's 'Puzzle People' takes the next step along the path that 'Cloud Nine' started, and takes the Detroit band further away from a classic soul sound, and more towards the realm of psychedelic soul. Although a few ballads, including 'Running Away (Ain't Gonna Help You),' are still present, the album is primarily composed of Sly & the Family Stone/James Brown-derived proto-funk tracks such as the lead single 'Don't Let The Joneses Get You Down,' and the number-one Billboard Pop hit 'I Can't Get Next To You.' Also included are psychedelic-styled covers (recorded with distorted guitars, clavinets, and spacy reverb and sound effects) of contemporary songs such as The Isley Brothers' 'It's Your Thing,' The Beatles' 'Hey Jude,' and Roger Miller's 'Little Green Apples.' 'Puzzle People' was released on the same day (September 23, 1969) as 'Together,' a duets album of covers by The Temptations and label mates Diana Ross & the Supremes. It peaked into the Top 5 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart, and spent fifteen weeks at number one on the R&B Albums chart.
Tjader, Cal
Goes Latin!
Callen Radcliffe Tjader Jr. has often been described as "the most successful non-latino Latin musician." He was a pivotal figure in the expansion of Latin jazz in the USA, but he also explored rhythms of Africa and the Caribbean in addition to those arriving from Latin America. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1925 to touring Swedish American vaudevillian parents. At age two the family established in California and opened a dance studio. Young Cal soon became a music prodigy, learning piano, drums, vibraphone and every other instrument that would fell in his hands. In the mid '50s, after having played drums in the Dave Brubeck Trio, he formed the Cal Tjader Mambo Quintet that produced several successful albums for Fantasy, including the mythical 'Mambo With Tjader.' It was in those years that he met the Afro-Cuban big bands led by Machito and Chico O'Farrill and also Mongo Santamaria and Willie Bobo, both members of the Tito Puente orchestra by the time. It was obvious that Tjader grew in the Latin sounds, and the album you hold in your hands, originally released in 1958 is a superb prove of the authenticity of his music.
Valdes, Bebo -y Su Gran Orquesta-
Bebo Valdes Y Su Gran Orquesta
Dionisio Ramon Emilio Valdés Amaro, better known as Bebo Valdés, was born in Cuba in 1918. He is considered one of the pivotal figures in Cuban music. Trained as a pianist, he also became a master arranged and conductor and worked with figures like Olga Guillot, Celia Cruz or Elena Burke. A trip to Haiti in the 1940s arised his interest in African rooted music, and on his return in La Havana, performing at the legendary Tropicana cabaret under the direction of Armando Romeu, he started including these rhythms in his sound becoming a prominent figure in Afro-Cuban jazz. He worked with big names like Joséphine Baker and Nat King Cole. He had been playing for ten years at the Tropicana when a bomb exploded very near his piano in the middle of his performance, he nearly died. He quit the Tropicana and benefited of the rising of television broadcast in the 1950s, getting even more fame in several Cuban TV shows until 1958, when he emigrated to Mexico first to finally set in Sweden, were he has Paramount in establishing a world taste for Afro-Cuban jazz. His career saw a big rebirth when in 1994 he teamed with saxophonist Paquito d'Rivera and, in a more mainstream way, with Fernando Trueba's 'Calle 54' movie. He had kept busy since then until his passing in 2013. he is acknowledged as one of the originators of Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban music.
P.unity
Live
Brown eco cover with hand stamped logo - limited edition of hand numbered 100 copies of black vinyl. The album 'Live' is a record of a concert from January 2024 promoting the band's latest album, 'No Codes.' It is a departure from traditional forms and a certain correctness characteristic of studio situations. Instead, there is a lot of energy, improvisation and carefree fun flowing from contact with the audience, seasoned with rock claw and freedom of expression. It is a pass to the world of P.Unity as it is in its essence - a character that until now could only be captured during live performances.

Binnenin
Probably in another life David Edren (DSR Lines) was a visionary biologist or chemist. In this new sound adventure, he becomes the narrator of anatomical and cellular symphonies, catharsis of invisible biochemical processes, painting the micro-dimensional flows of the subtle body or imaginary geographies of hidden micro-bodies. Here, his organic electronic music is enriched with new lymphs that also vaguely recall the influences of non-European music, especially Chinese and Japanese music (stick and chimes percussions) in an intimate and twilight dimension, poised between exotic ambient and cinematic suggestions. A miniaturistic description of liquid currents, labyrinthine veins, weaving streams, molecules and particles in multi-orbital dances, muscular chords, drowning bubbles, light waves; all in a confident compositional overview that is absolutely unique and fascinating.
Carney, Jeff
Skylogue
Following the ambitious all-analog explorations of 'Imperfect Space Journeys' (1988) and 'Live Electronic Music' (1989), Jeff Carney was determined to push further into new sonic territories and to continue to strive for even more originality while not yielding to the prevailing trend towards digital synthesis. And so, in 1990, Jeff Carney recorded some of his most ambitious analog electronic music. Those recordings were once thought to be lost - rumors about their existence made the rounds - but the long lost third solo album never materialized. Now, 'Skylogue' is here. Produced by Eroc and Jeff Carney and featuring a special guest appearance by Richard Pinhas, 'Skylogue' reaches into cosmic territory that stays true to the masters of '70s electronic music while also managing to encompass a completely original and unprecedented musical statement. "In fifty-plus years of doing this, I've never covered anybody else's music, but I may have to record this piece for a Heldon album. That should tell you what I think of it" - Richard Pinhas, speaking about 'The Landscapes Of Death,' on which he contributed his distinctive electric guitar. The album has been transferred from the original analog master tapes by Jeff Carney.

Amami
Wrong Way/wrong Way Dub
The Swiss trio Amamai continues to explore the intersection of dancehall, dub, and Afro-pop, while staying true to their live approach, without sequencers or computers. 'Wrong Way' kicks off with a powerful Jamaican influence, mixing steppa, rockers, and dub into Amami's signature explosive fusion. This track, a real dance floor igniter during the group's European tours, is an energetic bombshell that turns every set upside down. In addition to the original song, the 7" features a dub version, paying homage to the Jamaican dub scene. For this remix, Amami collaborated with dub legends Vibronics from the UK. These bold reinterpretations honor the genre, emphasizing bass, drums, and sound effects like Delay and Reverb, all while staying rooted in a dynamic and experimental vibe that invites dancing.
