PSYCHEDELIC/PROGRESSIVE/FOLK
Heffernan & Park
Sun Reflector
'Sun Reflector' is the debut LP collaboration by Heffernan (Ivan The Tolerable, All Structures Align, King Champion Sounds, University Challenged) and Pärk (Black Tempel Pyramid, Teeth Of Glass, Kosmonaut). 'Sun Reflector' is steeped in a haze of primitive drum machines, fanned phase and sustained scuzz-rippled guitar chimes, an ambient electronic creation with emphasis on repetitive trance-inducing rhythmic pulsations of electronic sound and subtle counterpoints that slowly unfold as the rhythmic drive marches forth utilizing the motorik 4/4 beat with the lysergic kosmische sonic textures of Cluster. Limited to 300 copies on black vinyl. Co-release with Feeding Tube Records.
Ambassador Hazy
Leaving Here
'Leaving Here' is hallucinatory lightning in a bottle - it is the sound of sunny summer days passing by and old friends coming and going, and psychedelics slipping in and out of your mind in vast quantities. Each song is an acid soaked rabbit hole which sucks you in and leaves you immersed in an unusual sonic world projected before you in brilliant technicolour. Musically each song veers between bright sunshine fuzzy soaked pop and dark warping druggy-tinged nightmares that is the USA in 2024. It quickly becomes clear that Ambassador Hazy is an artist driven by an expansive musical vision; one which feels as sumptuous as it is otherworldly. Immaculately bright and infectiously catchy psych pop gems packed full of odd detours and abrupt freakish left turns. The songs here are far too densely packed with way too many ideas for them to ever sound uninteresting or bland, each passage is a triumph of an expansive musical vision; one which feels as sumptuous as it is otherworldly. 'Leaving Here' expands upon what Ambassador Hazy has experimented upon their previous releases, that sense of wonder and outlandish that leaves you immersed in a wonderful landscape of hypnotic, transcendental sounds and surrealistic lyrics. On the surface, 'Leaving Here' is a psych pop album, but when you peel back the outer layers, you're left with something that feels far beyond this world. Think all your favourite fuzzy bands on a nice, big, psychedelic drug cocktail. Limited to 250 copies on clear vinyl. Co-release with Feeding Tube Records.
E Gone
Adventures Before The Body
E Gone is Daniel Westerlund from Stockholm, Sweden, and 'Adventures Before The Body' is his long-awaited latest excursion into cosmically earthy musical alchemy, rounding out a trilogy of albums begun in 2013 with 'All The Suns Of The Earth,' and continuing with 'Advice To Hill Walkers' in 2016 (both also released by Deep Water Acres and Sunrise Ocean Bender). Musically, 'Adventures...' builds on its predecessors' eclecticism and love of sonic juxtapositions - astute psychedelic guitar lines swirled together with exotic instrumentation and modal motifs, rock riffs alongside ethnic percussion and old-school beats, drones and atmospheric effects blending into electronic deep dives. A pair of songs bring back Westerlund's vocals, though the overall compositional logic scales up from the shorter instrumental pieces on 'Advice...' into more progressive territory (most notably the 14-minute title track). As that suggests, 'Adventures...' also extends the triptych conceptually - if 'All The Suns...' was about waking up and breaking free, and 'Advice...' was a metaphorical travel guide of diverse vignettes, 'Adventures...' is about expansion or explosion, whether outwards or inwards; evoking, in the man's own words, 'a feeling of vertigo in the vastness of the universe...' That said, deep philosophical musings are in no way necessary to appreciate the sheer enjoyment within 'Adventures...' grooves. These are songs and sounds of mystery and wonder, as sonically experimental as they are melodically accessible, taking form somewhere outside of conventional genre lines... An album of shifting textures and formidable scope that rewards attentive ears and repeat listening. Limited to 250 copies on black vinyl. Co-release with Feeding Tube Records.
Dream Phases
Phantom Idol
2024 album by US psychedelic pop unit Dream Phases, lead by songwriter Brandon Graham. 'Phantom Idol' is their first time collaborating with producers Matt Schuessler (Cat Power, DISQ, Kurt Vile) and Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Dr. Dog). Features guest appearances by Jeff Schroeder (ex-Smashing Pumpkins), Dan Gee (No. 44), and several more. The album was started in 2022 and recording finished in 2023. Artwork by Asuka Watanabe.
Black Tempest
Astral Pastoral
The previous Black Tempest album ('Psyborg') was born out of the paranoia and anxiety of the Covid lockdown - a space opera reflecting the fragility of the human psyche in opposition to the cold, lifeless logic of AI. 'Astral Pastoral' by contrast is a meditation on more earthbound concerns - nature, wildlife, and the countryside - in particular the rolling downs and heathland of Southern England. The title track is a continuation/extrapolation of an evolving theme which has featured in the live work of Black Tempest for many years. This particular incarnation is a side-long kosmische eco-dreamscape which centres on a moving poem entitled 'Blood Compass' composed and read by Joanne Crosby. Side two consists of five shorter pieces, each evoking different aspects of the natural beauty of our landscape. Haunting, hypnotic, and meditative, these drifting, minimalist pieces leave an overall sense of warmth and a joy in nature. 'Astral Pastoral' represents Stephen Bradbury's desire to return to his kosmische, synth-based roots, stepping away from the harsh glare of the more guitar-based sound of 'Psyborg' - moving from the previous fuzzed-up spacerock to a psychedelic kaleidoscope of synthesizer washes and mind-expanding sequences. Limited to 200 copies on purple vinyl.
Lay Llamas
Sunburned Dreamlike Safari
A floating drift toward a mysterious reality, between Nature and Cosmos, poised between sleep and wakefulness, temporal co-presences and impossible spatial ubiquities. In this phantasmagorical saga, inspired by TV science-fiction as well as '60s and '70s horror movies, Nicola Giunta/Lay Llamas creates a miraculous balance between original inserts and retrievals of freely chosen fragments from old audio documentaries on vinyl, perfecting the art of sound collage in an absolutely psychedelic way. Nonlinear dream textures become labyrinths of sudden openings, empty rooms, interstellar platforms, narrating voices from other worlds or ghostly churches from beyond the grave. A piercing electronica of cosmic synths, dense with the mists and dusts of distant times, past and future at the same time, where lysergic percussions merge with echoes of flutes vibrating in endless tropical forests and natures. Until the final awakening, in the reality of the first light of dawn.
Addict Ameba
Caosmosi
After their debut album the most multifaceted and unpredictable musical collective in Italy - Addict Ameba - come back with their sophomore album, 'Caosmosi.' Faithful to the aim of bringing together different paths, traditions and horizons in their music, the band moves between desert-blues and Afrobeat landscapes, with Latin rock rides and Ethio-jazz parentheses. The vision of the album is further enriched by two absolutely valuable features: Joshua Idehen, Anglo-Nigerian poet and singer and pen of Sons Of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming, is the author and lead voice in 'Look At Us,' a poem - or perhaps it would be more correct to say a prayer - an invitation to be protagonists and change this time, before it changes us; Rabii Brahim, Tunisian actor and musician, who in 'Ya Bled' gives birth to a love song for his land, telling the nostalgia and disorientation of migrant, even when he returns to his homeland. To approach listening to this album you should project that state of melancholy euphoria that you would experience when taking part in the last great party before the disappearance of the human race... 'Caosmosi'!
Rider Negro
The Echo Of The Desert (black)
Rider Negro emerged from the northern suburbs of Mexico City. It is a psychedelic rock project, bringing together styles such as blues, rock, Latin groove, western and exploration tending to progressive. Hence, the musical channel takes different forms, some of them are atmospheres full of mysticism, leading to introspection and the search for answers here, on this, our Earth. Limited to 220 copies on black vinyl.
Glass Prism
Poe Through The Glass Prism
Originally released in 1969, 'Poe Through The Glass Prism' was one of the first ever concept-based rock albums. This Scranton, PA band (the first rock group from the Northeast to perform on national television shows and obtain a major record label deal) adapted Edgar Allan Poe poems to psychedelic rock with stunning results: swirling organ, fuzz bursts, passionate vocals... the sound quality was exceptional as the album was engineered and produced by Les Paul (the legendary inventor of the electric guitar and many studio recording devices) at his recording studio in New York. The album and its single 'The Raven' hit the Billboard, Cashbox and Record World charts in 1969 and remained on for several weeks. Guerrsen is proud to offer the first ever band sanctioned LP reissue of this cult psychedelic classic. Sourced from the original master tapes. Includes insert with liner notes by Plastic Crimewave and rare photos. "The Glass Prism were forerunners of the goth movement. 'The Raven' was the first true expression of goth rock." ~Maxim Furek.
Glass Prism
On Joy And Sorrow
Second album by Pennsylvania psychedelic band Glass Prism, originally released in 1970 and recorded in NYC with engineer Mike Moran (who worked with David Bowie, The Youngbloods, Herbie Hancock...). With a title taken from Kahil Gibran's 'The Prophet,' this is a heavier effort than their debut, featuring killer organ and piercing fuzz-wah guitar. Guerssen is proud to present the first ever LP reissue of this underrated hard-psychedelic classic. Original artwork. Sourced from the original master tapes. Includes insert with liner notes by Plastic Crimewave and photos. RIYL: Amboy Dukes, Steppenwolf, Cream, Doors... "Graced with a moody cover uncharacteristic of its time, with the band largely hidden in shadows, the album is a nice time capsule of the '60s dream turning perhaps a bit darker..." ~Plastic Crimewave.
Living Daylights
Let's Live For Today
Previously unreleased album recorded in 1967 by cult UK psych-pop band The Living Daylights, led by Garth Watt-Roy and his younger brother (and future Ian Dury & The Blockheads) Norman and famous for their fabulous 'Rubbles' classic 'Let's Live For Today'/'I'm Real' 45 (also included here!). Originally from Harlow, The Living Daylights signed with Beatles publisher Dick James and their studio production team included famous studio musician Caleb Quaye. Their 1967 recording sessions resulted in just a couple 45s/EPs with the remaining tracks unreleased until now. Highly recommended if you like 'Rubber Soul'/'Revolver'-era Beatles, Hollies, Kinks, Zombies, Who, Mirage... Remastered sound in mono. Includes insert with liner notes by David Wells and photos. "...another dropped stitch in the tapestry of late sixties British psychedelic pop..." ~David Wells.
Short Cross
Arising
Rare US' 72 hard-rock/heavy-blues private pressing with a powerful sound in the vein of Sabbath, Led Zep, Grand Funk... Originally from Sandston, Virginia, Short Cross featured ace guitar player Velpo Robertson and during their existence (1969-1973) opened for bands like Black Sabbath, Trapeze and Black Oak Arkansas among many others. 'Arising' was their only album, released in 1972 and now considered a cult hard-rock classic. This 2024 reissue is dedicated to Velpo, who sadly passed away in 2020. Original artwork in gatefold sleeve. Remastered sound. Includes insert with liner notes and photos' "Ballsy, pro-sounding early 1970s rural bar rock-hardrock in an Allman Bros direction with great organ-guitar interplay." ~Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives).
Burghers Orquestra
Cautionary Tails
Simone and Niels are back with another long player of fuzzy postpunky pop with unexpected twists and instrumentation plus their trademark boy/girl harmonizing. Now with veteran drummer Aad Hollander (Morzelpronk). Limited pressing of 315 copies.
Moonseeds
Moonseeds
In the year 2018 the Australian psych-rockband Seedy Jeezus was doing their European tour. After the tour their guitar player Lex Waterreus spent some days at the home of Komet Lulu and Sula Bassana (both back then of Electric Moon), and what would be nicer as to record some jam sessions. Three longer pieces got recorded and Sula did some editings and mixings. Then some years passed by... In late 2023 Lex visited Sula at his new home after another Seedy Jeezus tour and they did some spare overdubs and finished the album. Mastering was done by krautrock legend Eroc. Cover art direction by mr. Frumpy. Original image by Masiha Fattahi.

Camille Avec Le Chiffre Organ-ization
Rodin/alexandre
Here's Camille, the effortlessly cool and stylish singer, rockin' her French elegance reflecting the '60s Yé-Yé girl spirit with this very first record accompanied by her talented well known musician friends Le Chiffre Organ-Ization (who initially captivated us with their fantastic band The Gentlemen's Agreements). She loves jazz, art and fashion and last summer she wrote her very first song. If you are an undeniable fan of Jaqueline Taieb, Cleo, Suzanne Gabriello, Gillian Hills, Catherine Spaak, Sylvie Vartan, Françoise Hardy, Sheila, 'Rodin' will most certainly take you right back in time. Camille sings about love, life and loneliness, an original composition about the love affair between Auguste Rodin and his student Camille Claudel and also includes a fantastic cover song from an artist we all adore, Nino Ferrer's 'Alexandre.'
Scums

The three chicks - Rie (bass), Miku (keyboard and theremin), and Saori (drums) - and their man Nao (guitar and vocals) deliver an absolutely wild, fuzzy, stompin' organ beat sound with screaming vocals on 'Slay So Hard' and a furious instrumental with 'The Rattle Snake.' The Scums' future activities are still undecided, but for now they are busy driving you to the crazy world of their fuzzy, wild and dazzling sound! Once you've heard it, you can be certain that this hot 7" is not one you wanna be without!
Go-goettes
La Musica Me Guida
Introducing The Go-Goettes, the one and only electrifying all-women garage rock band from Mexico, blazing trails since 2022. Drawing inspiration from the raw energy of the 1960s women's garage bands in the style of 'Girls In The Garage' and the fervent revival of the '80s with a strong influence from The Brood, The Pandoras, The Makers, The Headcoatees, among others. The Go-Goettes infuse their music with a fresh twist on underground rock. The band consists of Rita on organ and vocals, Naye on guitar, Ana on drums, and Teté on bass. The Go-Goettes' music resonates with authenic lyrics that narrate their personal experiences and perspectives as women navigating life in Mexico. Shutdown 66
I Wish I Could Be Shutdown 66 (again)
At first there were only whispers, then the whispers became rumours, and finally the rumours became the stuff of myths, legends, and dreams. Could there really be a whole unreleased album, recorded by the original line up of Australia's garage punk gods Shutdown 66? Sometimes dreams really do come true: Melbourne's legendary neo-garagepunkers Shutdown 66 are back for more! Featuring members of The Breadmakers, The Hekawis, The Puritans and Driveway Service these boys have created their own unique and mindblowing sound, strongly influenced by '60s garagepunk and British R&B, that has a worldwide fanbase. Between 1998 and 2004 they released four smashing albums and several singles and split-singles. Now the lost master tapes have been unearthed and Soundflat Records can now bring you the sound of a band performing at the absolute peak of their powers. On this album Shutdown 66 reached their zenith. They tackled all manner of styles in these 12 original compositions. There are screaming garage stompers, wild R'n'B ravers, fuzzed out rockers, and even a couple of the tragic teen twangers (from which the band took their name). Shutdown 66 wear their influences loudly and proudly on their snotty sleeves. Think of The Pretty Things, The Shadows Of Knight, The Belfast Gypsies and The Missing Links. They even write songs about their friends in bands including Mike Stax of Ugly Things fanzine and Telltale Hearts fame, and Freddy from Fortune And Maltese. Thank the vinyl gods that these great sounds were not left to gather dust. They have been saved and lovingly restored by master audiologist Mikey Young (Eddie Current Suppression Ring) and now, almost unbelievably it really can be Shutdown 66 again.

Pangea De Futura
War Milk
Supergroup lead by Eric Quach aka Thisquietarmy. Including 3 drummers, guitar, synth and brass players (who also play in bands such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Exhaust, Hanged Up, Avec Le Soleil Sortant De Sa Bouche and more). Pangea De Futura brings together the merged and emerging territories of Montreal's exploratory music scene. 'War Milk' is the debut studio album from the supergroup Pangea De Futura, an octet that has been exploring since 2019, the many ways of - slowly - constructing massive textural musical shapes and droning tribal post-rock ambiances. Each track simultaneously encapsulates its structure emerging from and within a flux, alongside its impending entropy, creating a suspended moment. This intense experience is crafted through the combined rhythmic contributions of Aidan Girt, Eric Craven, Samuel Bobony, the merging brass arrangements of Véronique Janosy, Reüel Ordoñez, Neboysha Rakic, the electronic textures provided by Charles Bussières, and the intense drones/soundscapes created by Eric Quach's guitar playing. Eight musicians, involved - in total - in some fifty projects from the Montreal scene (a.o. Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Silver Mt. Zion, Fly Pan Am, Some Became Hollow Tube, HRSTA, BLD, Black Givre, Avec Le Soleil Sortant De Sa Bouche...). Earth, Water, Air, Fire... the genesis of a complex and perpetually evolving life.
Comet Gain
Only Happy When I'm Sad/dreams Of A Working Girl
Comet Gain are a British indiepop band, who have been making beautiful noise since 1992. Formed by singer-songwriter and guitarist David Christian (aka David Feck/Charlie Damage) and Phil Sutton, with musical influences including post-punk and northern soul, Pitchfork called them "one of the most underrated contemporary indie bands in the UK". Initially recording and releasing homemade demos on cassette, the band followed with record releases via Wiiija Records, Fortuna Pop!, Tapete Records, amongst others, experiencing a revolving door of members throughout, with David Christian holding the back-bone. Early gig supports included Stereolab, Television Personalities, Bikini Kill and Heavenly, with more than one Peel Session under their belt too, Comet Gain's music varies in style, from indiepop influenced by soul and sixties girl-group sounds, through to early-'80s alternative pop, to punk. The two recordings on this 7" record were recorded in the spring/summer of 1996. Shortly after, Comet Gain disbanded as it was, with the majority forming the band Velocette, leaving David Christian to continue Comet Gain with new members. On Side A, recorded back then, 'Only Happy When I'm Sad' was recently released on the 'Misfit Jukebox' compilation album (Tapete Records, TR540). On Side B, first time to vinyl, this version of 'Dreams Of A Working Girl' was originally found on the 'NME C96' compilation CD.
Lovejoy
...and It's Love!
Lovejoy have gained a reputation for providing sophisticated indie music. In the late nineties and early noughties, Lovejoy released a string of well received and now sought-after singles and albums, mostly on Santa Barbara's Matinee Recordings, also playing shows in Scandinavia and Europe, as well as in the UK. They took an extended sabbatical from 2007, following the devastating loss of long-time friend, confidante and collaborator Keith Girdler (Blueboy), only returning to the studio in 2022. The years have been kind to Dick Preece's song writing sensibilities. Lovejoy make a stunning return with the album '...And It's Love!.' Through eleven shimmering, lushly produced tracks, beautifully bound together by the central themes of love, loss and human connections, the album invites the listener to immerse themselves in Lovejoy's world. A kind of concept album, the songs on '...And It's Love!' weave and meld together into a narrative soundscape of tender moments of love and loss that sound both reassuringly familiar and yet totally modern. The album includes collaborations from former label mate Keris Howard (Brighter, Trembling Blue Stars, Harper Lee), and long-time Lovejoy co-vocalist Ally Board, along with one or two other special guests. Added support, encouragement and endorsement came from former Creation Records' boss Alan McGee (Biff Bang Pow!) and pop genius Edward Ball (TVPs, The Times etc), who also both provide sleeve notes (as well as the two songs that Lovejoy covered on the album). Co-release with Shelflife Records. Limited to 500 copies on white vinyl.
PUNK/HARDCORE
Dogs (france)
The Legendary Lovers Demos
This album reveals previously unreleased recordings by the legendary French band Dogs, renowned for blending their '50s/'60s influences into a distinctive sound uniquely their own. From 1977 to 1984, Dogs released several nearly classic albums with 1983's 'Legendary Lovers' being one of their best. Many argue that demos often surpass the final product, and this definitely holds true here. The demos for their 'Legendary Lovers' album are a revelation-raw, energetic, occasionally moody, yet imbued with an elegance and class rarely matched by other bands. Dive in and experience the untamed essence of Dogs' music and hear this fantastic record again for the first time. The LP includes never before seen photos of the group, liner notes by Robin Wills and an 11x17" poster.

Tma
What's For Dinner?
TMA's 1983 debut LP reissued on hand-poured white and pink vinyl, sold separately from the box set! Only 100 numbered copies produced. "'What's For Dinner?' arrived after the addition of singer David Oldfield, which necessitated the adjustment of the initials to Too Many Assholes. But this is speedy, tense thrashcore with songs like 'What's For Dinner?,' the title track: "Mrs Paul's fish sticks! Spaghetti and meatball Chef Boyardee! Greasy Tony's trashcan steak!" If it hadn't already been taken, they could've titled this one 'Young, Loud And Snotty.' 'What's For Dinner?' was a fun, potent burst of hardcore that still sounds pretty cool in the here-and-now. And now you can get TMA in a limited hand-poured edition. Which is also pretty fuckin' cool." ~Tim Stegall, Ugly Things, 40th Anniversary Edition (Nov. 2023).
INDUSTRIAL/EXPERIMENTAL/NOISE/NEOFOLK/GOTHIC
Vandewolken, Linus
Oude Geuze Uit Niemandaal
As an American in Belgium, McLoud Zicmuse developed a deep love for some of the customs of his new-found homeland: a specific kind of archery ("staande wip"), celebrating carnaval, aging geuze-beers, and not in the least: playing de "hommel." the Flemish cousin of the Appalachian dulcimer. With the persona Linus Vandewolken, Zicmuse took a deep dive into these traditions. His love for the dulcimer is very real, yet he breaks out of the narrow framework in which the instrument is often handled. The additional use of homemade flutes, percussion instruments and some humming definitely add up to the experience. Zicmuse released a handful of tapes as Linus Vandewolken, and a double 10" on Okraina Records. But his musical curriculum is way longer than that. Under his own name, he did releases on a.o. Shelter Press, with Le Ton Mite on Crammed Discs, and contributed to a long, long list of releases by artists as diverse as Yume Bitsu, Maher Shalal Hash Basz or Singers. For this opus, Linus Vandewolken provides some richly brewed compositions, with no added sugar or yeast. There is an elements of sourdough, the richness of earthy odors, the first song ('Terugkeer Van De Kudde') sounds like a smooth multi-tracked moment, but is actually a live multi-instrumental piece: a home-made double reed xaulos is played sparingly along the fingerpicked strings of the home-made hommel. Like the barley in the beer, the hommel remains the main ingredient of the disc. Multiple techniques are used to unleash its voice, from tapping to bowing, to all at the same time. A compilation of travels, residencies, desires_ songs have been harvested from 2019-2024 in France, Poland, Sweden, England, moments of Vandewolken's wanderings, evoking inspirations and collaborations in unlikely spots, like a pump organ cameo of Christo Wallers in a village chapel a short distance from Hadrian's Wall. As borders change and move, the flute comes around to sweetly catch our attention, metal lines from a letterpress shop invade the hommel strings creating distortions and unlikely rhythms. Points of silence like small bubbles rising in the glass of a freshly poured geuze, an old gueuze from Niemandaal, 'Oude Geuze Uit Niemandaal.' Recommended if you like The Iditarod, Roxane Métayer, Jon Collin, Hala Strana. Limited to 200 copies.
Maioli, Walter
Caverne Sonore
The explorer Walter Maioli makes his most amazing adventure, the journey to the center of the Earth. Retracing the exploits of the Platonic demiurge, he identifies in the cave the deepest meaning of myth. Primordial sounds, not shadows, are at the center of this magical path straddling geology and Paleolithic polyphony. The recordings between 1985 and 2002 capture the sonic imperceptibility of the great subterranean womb, investigate the secret dialogue between the trickling of pond waters and the faint percussive reverberation of stalactites and stalagtites. Rocky sediments are played as tubular organs, glockenspiels, xylophones or stone marimbas. Crystalline timbral variations and subtle microtonal passages recall the chimes of Tibetan gongs and bells, of the scales of Java and Bali. Amidst muffled pauses and silences, trills and rings, echoes and tremolos, hisses and pops of vibration, Maioli builds his most imaginative niche of sound, a magnetic and telluric chant that is pure symphony and archetypal synaesthesia. Co-produced with Holidays Records.
Krutzen, Henry
Silances
Henry Krutzen is a relatively shadowy figure in the history of experimental sound. Between the early '80s and the 2010s, there are only a handful of albums that bear his name, and very little information about them. A multi-instrumentalist and composer who studied percussion, saxophone, and harmony in various schools and jazz clinics across Belgium, over the years he played in a diverse range of musical projects across the idioms of jazz, new wave, heavy metal, experimental, chanson Française, world music and progressive rock, before relocating to Brazil during the early 2000s. 'Silances,' originally released by Igloo Records - the Belgian imprint founded in 1978 by Daniel Sotiaux - sitting alongside astounding and remarkably unique albums by Leo Küpper, Jacques Bekaert, Henri Chopin, Arthur Pétronio, André Stordeur, and numerous others, is an entirely singular gesture at the borders of sound poetry, musique concrète, and radical electroacoustic practice that draws upon disparate elements of drone, jazz, minimalism, ecstatic tribalism, and various traditions of music from across the globe. Decades on from its original release it remains as striking, unique, and compelling as it did upon its release. In a note that Krutzen penned in 2022 when he was contacted for the reissue of 'Silances,' Krutzen recalls: "Since I was 16, I had been experimenting with concrete music with a technician friend and we used all a teenager's room could offer to make sounds into music: faucets, glasses of water, metal springs on ladders, objects of any kind... I had hours of recordings I pitched to Daniel [Sotiaux], to see if he was interested in making an album. I also had other ideas I wanted to be able to develop. What a joy when he accepted to work on the project! So I got to work. First, I set up a vocal improvisation quartet, and we spent long afternoons rehearsing using input I provided_ We went into the studio and recorded almost two hours of improvisation, from which I then chose the best moments for the final product." Edition of 500 copies in screen printed cover. Includes two inserts: a replica of the original insert and the English translation.
Arum Lilies
Subsurface Aquifers
The arum lily (zantedeschia aethiopica) is a species of flowering plant in the family Araceae, native to southern Africa. What does this beautiful flower have to do with experimental industrial music? The rather obscure second album of Arum Lilies, a brainchild of Mark Groves (Von Einem etc.), does not provide answers. What it does provide, however, is an album of vaguely unsettling, eerily obscure experimental electronics. Harrowing, subtle atmospherics clash with moments of eardrum shattering industrial noise; warbling pseudomelodies are offset by crackling static and piercing feedback; ominous vocal samples are layered on passages of tightly controlled minimalism. 'Subsurface Aquifers' is a piece of music that migrates between poles, from an almost ambient sparsity of expression to exuberant bursts of chaos. 'Subsurface Aquifers' is not an album of shallow industrial nihilism or typical power electronics misanthropy. It does not allow itself to be defined so easily. As such, it demands more from the listener - but also offers more. Limited to 120 copies.

'Kata No Wadachi' is the latest album by Banetoriko, the solo noise project of Tamaki Ueda. Her first release both on An'archives and on vinyl, it follows several albums for the Neurec imprint - 2017's 'Beside The Sluice' and 2022's 'Yorioto Hogiokuri' - and several other cassettes and CD-Rs. With 'Kata No Wadachi,' the Banetoriko world, inspired by the Yokai ("strange apparitions" - supernatural figures, ghosts, spirits) of Japanese folklore, is at its most resonant yet. Limited to 315 copies.

Dutch Treat
Tranquility (+7")
1977: In the middle of the era of punk groups, up-tempo music, high-energy rock and a mini rock-'n-roll revival, a record with the cheeky title 'Tranquility' by the group Dutch Treat has come onto the market. A record - as the title suggests - that exudes tranquility. The record is a serious product by five of Holland's best-known and most-talented studio musicians: Jan Huydts, Wim Essed, Hans Hollestelle, Louis de Lussanet and Steve Boston. Jan Huydts: "We want to make music that brings people peace and tranquility. We are a recording group. We like each other. We are just close friends. The idea was to make non-aggressive music with aggressive instruments like synthesizers and electric guitars. You may even call it background music, maybe with a double meaning." Wim Essed in 2024: "After decades it is still amazing that in all their diversity the pieces on this album fit together so well, taking the listener on an instrumental road trip through rainy as well as sunny landscapes.' 'When we had finished the original recording, the first and only issue was marketed by Polydor Records, in quite a modest edition, instigating an equally modest success. Nowadays many more can get access through the web and 'Tranquility' has since found a certain following and cult status, as the original record got harder to come by and more expensive on the second-hand market. So people started to ask for a reissue, which we can at last and proudly offer, bonus material included!" 'Tranquility' by Dutch Treat was recorded, mixed and mastered between October 1976 and January 1977 at Procom Studio in Kirchhellen, West Germany . Remastered in August and September 2023 by Fritz Fey (original assistent engineer) at Double-D Mastering, Oberhausen, Germany. For the remastering a direct transfer from the original master tape in 192 kHz and 24 bit was used. The master was cut in a lacquer and the actual reissue is a 180 gram hi-quality pressing.
Mochizuki, Harutaka
Doppelganger Ga Boku Wo
An'archives is proud to present the 2024 album by Japanese free saxophonist and vocalist Harutaka Mochizuki, 'Doppelgänger Ga Boku Wo.' Since the early 2000s, Harutaka has quietly, yet steadily, released a string of solo and collaborative releases that have allowed multiple perspectives on one of the most singular voices in modern music. In collaboration, he seems to prefer the duo format, and digging through his discography, you'll find releases where he pairs with Tomoyuki Aoki (of Up-Tight), Michel Henritzi, and Hideaki Kondo. But Harutaka's solo performances, with their lyricism and physicality, are where the magic truly happens. Limited to 315 copies.

Revolutionaries
Meditation In Dub
One of reggae music's most famed session bands, The Revolutionaries were an often revolving cast of some of the finest session musicians on the island during the roots and early dancehall periods of the mid/late 1970s and early 1980s. These would include Earl 'Wire' Lindo, Radcliffe 'Dougie' Bryan, Ansell Collins, Bobby Kalphat, Lloyd Parks, Uziah 'Sticky' Thompson, Bongo Herman, Stanley Bryan, Bo Peep, Eric 'Bingy Bunny' Lamont, Errol 'Tarzan' Nelson, Skully Simms, Robbie Lyn, Mikey 'Mao' Chung amongst many others. The enduring core of the group, however, was undoubtedly in the coming together of the legendary rhythm section of drummer Sly Dunbar and bassist Robbie Shakespeare - with the formation of The Revolutionaries marking the first time that this often unparalleled duo worked together.

Buscemi Ft. Steve Ignorant
Who D'you Think You're Talking To? Mixed And Reworked
'Who D'You Think You're Talking To? Mixed And Reworked - Musical Boundaries Are For Pretentious Assholes Volume 1' - Yup, that's right! Pang Pang Records like it mixed up. This is the first in what hopefully is going to be a long series of twisted comps. The main track is from Belgian DJ Buscemi who teamed up with legendary anarcho punk kingpin Steve Ignorant. The first is famous from here to Ibiza, bringing his techno and bossa infused dancetracks to all the dance temples in the world. Steve Ignorant is from a whole other scene being the frontman for legendary punkband Crass. And yess, these two made a track together. Till now only available on CD (2021). Pang Pang couldn't let that pass so they asked Buscemi and Steve if they could release the track on vinyl and add some remixes to it. Expect some crazy tunes/remixes from Kameel (Belgium), Dubmatix (Canada), JR Mozes (Belgium), DJ Bobby Ewing (Belgium) and Colère (Belgium). From discodub, jazzrock, rub-a-dub and hardcorepunk to dubstep and some dancefloor-filling stuff. The ace mastering was done by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios. Limited to 300 copies in screen printed sleeves.

De Herontdekking Van De Hemel
'De Herontdekking Van De Hemel' (The Rediscovery Of Heaven) is the second studio album by writer, performer and artist Manu, or in full: Manu van Kersbergen. The music was recorded completely analogue and played by Thijs van Zuphen (bass), Boudwijn Pleij (keys) and Aron Smit (drums). The album is released via the eclectic music label INI Movement. In collaboration with Productiehuis Melkweg Paradiso, Manu is developing his musical theater performance of the same name into an evening-filling program for the 2024/2025 theater season.
