'Brazilian Beat Brooklyn' is a weekly party thrown at a bar called Black Betty, located just over the East River from Manhattan, NYC. Included in this compilation of original '60s and '70s Brazilian funk, soul and samba gems are tracks that have been filling the Black Betty dance floor over the past few years. Some of them are seeing their first official CD release. The music included in this compilation meets the same criteria as the songs you'd hear on any Sunday night at Black Betty: they move the crowd, and they're great songs.
