Ben & Jerry's Newport Folk Festival, Vol. 2: Mementos
Taking place in Rhode Island, tehy Newport Folk Festival was begun by George Wein, Dylan manager Albert Grossman and artists Pete Seeger, Oscar Brand and Theodore Bikel. In the early days Newport was noted for featuring artists at the forefront of the Civil Rights and anti-war movements. In recent times the focal point of protest artists has expanded to include issues of womens' rights, LGBTQ and climate issues.
