At The End Of Modernity?
IDL started in 1982 as editor of the fanzine/package FREE. Included with FREE were a series of 7" split records combining bands from the rising Florentine post-punk scene - Diaframma, Pankow, Neon, Rinf - with European cult acts such as Schleimer K, Die Form, Portion Control, Fra Lippo Lippi. Backed by the growing international spread of FREE - a "printed object" with a rich iconography, released in very limited editions - IDL continues to draw links between its surrounding context and the international scene. 'At The End Of Modernity?' includes songs believed lost and never published before by IDL (Pankow, Twin Vision, Rosemary's Baby, Minox + Blaine Reininger), new interpretations of unpublished works of the period (Federico Fiumani, Alex Spalck + FM, Daniele Biagini), or lesser-known versions of songs already released (Rinf, Ultramarine, Steven Brown).
