391, Vol. 1: Marche (2cd)
'VOYAGE THROUGH THE DEEP '80S UNDERGROUND IN ITALY'. - The 391 project was founded in 1983 by two troubled teenagers from the quiet provincial town Ascoli Piceno. The intention was to release a series of compilations tape, representing worthwhile sounds from the Italian underground. The name was chosen as a tribute to the dadaist magazine, drawn by New York-based painter and poet Francis Picabia. The intention was to (re)present the best and most radical new wave and post-punk groups, region by region. The 391 project came to an end in 1985, after having released two volumes, dedicated to Marche and Umbria. This DOUBLE-CD brings back the music from those '80s cassettes and includes tracks by SWBZ, 3-D Stress, The Manimal, Usasi Cobol, Exxess, Dagon, Europack and many more.
