Ugly Sounds
Never Say I'm Doomed
The Rippers have been digging up garage-punk dust and ash from Sardinian caves for years. Now, from their ashes, Ugly Sounds continue the unfinished work: an ultra-primitive, feverish and criminal sound, a writhing marine animal with a hook stuck in its palate, forced to gulp down lungfuls of oxygen that, instead of satiating it, lead it to agony. The Sardinian trio's teen-punk is a beast that trembles and knows no rest. The eleven songs on their debut are pervaded by a hooligan voracity that seems to want to swallow everything, including us. A triplet like 'I'm Not Like You,' 'New God In The City' and 'You Can't Keep Me Satisfied' will be unbearable for those who have gone soft, including their genitals, chasing the new "albums of the month" of the asshole magazine that comes out on newsstands. And from the way they cleaned it up, it doesn't do that either. So you might as well give your ass a good scrape with a roll of garage punk coarse sandpaper. You might not find any better ones around. (Reverendo Lys - RUMORE MAG (2025)
