Mandinka Dong

Released in 1979, self-financed by borrowing money from friends and allies, 'Mandinka Dong' (The Mandinke Dance) is the genesis of Toure Kunda. It's the cornerstone of their unique sound, a crossroad of disco, funk, pop, reggae, portuguese, Guinean, Cuban, Zairean, Mandinke and Soninke music. This historic recording became a very sought after album throughout the years, as the first pressing comprised of only 700 copies. It is Secousse and Hot Mule Records presenting a reissue of 'Mandinka Dong', restored and remastered on vinyl.
