An impressive double-LP! The Thing formed in 1999 as a Don Cherry recording project. They soon established themselves as one of the most important European jazz groups, playing a variety of compositions, ranging from extreme noise to American free jazz. The members are the highly rated musicians Mats Gustafsson (sax), Ingebrigt Haker Flaten (electric bass) and Paal Nilssen-Love (drums).
