Recorded in 1973 at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, this set formed part of a major comeback for the blues-R&B singer Little Johnny Taylor, whose previous biggest hit had been in the '60s with the impassioned 'Part Time Love'. 'I Can't Stop Loving You' is Southern soul at its finest, 'A Thousand Miles Away' harks back to Taylor's blues roots, and 'Strange Bed With a Bad Head' is a familiar tale of love taking a wrong turn. However, the set's highlights are undoubtedly the two parts of the title track, which is both vintage Taylor and vintage R&B.
