Alcoholic Metal
'Alcoholic Metal' features Tankard two early demos 'Heavy Metal Vanguard' from 1984 and 'Alcoholic Metal' from 1985. Although Tankard do not have the same profile as some other German metal bands (Accept, Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, Running Wild, Helloween) they have a cult following and are regarded as one of the heavy weights from the German scene. Germany indeed was the cradle for many, many of the best thrash metal bands in the world. Tankard are definitely among one of them. They have something in particular which is sorely missed in metal bands today: sense of humour. Genuine, sharp sense of humour. They do metal for fun, for nothing else, their songs dealing with drunken nights and mayhem, together with zombies and aliens coming for you, giving a hilarous spin to the monstrosity cult in metal. Musically speaking, they are solid thrash, with heavy influences from punk and heavy metal.
