San Fermin
The Cormorant 1
'The Cormorant 1' ushers in a new era for San Fermin, who envision the eight-track collection as the first of two eventual full-length releases encompassing the full scope of the new project. It sets the tone for San Fermin's newest chapter, which largely takes place in the ordinary yet enchanted spaces of childhood, centring on the tension between growing up and longing for innocence. Paired with a storybook grandeur that entwines the real and the mythic, 'The Cormorant 1' invites listeners on a trip of wilful delusion, described by bandleader Ellis Ludwig-Leone as, "creating fictions from your life as a way to deal with a more complicated reality." One of the full-length's most thrillingly urgent tracks, 'The Hunger' illuminates the inner dialogue fundamental to dating in the modern age, moving from lonesomeness to angst to glorious self-lionization with pure conviction. Comes on 180 gram vinyl.
