Our Meanings And Our Feelings
French jazz saxophonist Michel Portal cut 'Our Meanings And Our Feelings,' his first LP of original material, in the summer of 1969. Backed by Jacques Thollot and Aldo Romano, Jean-Francois Jenny-Clark and Joachim Kuhn, Portal's performances on the zokra (a North African instrument similar to both a bagpipe and clarinet) made this a unique listening experience, rich in sonics but never overloaded. One of the country's first free jazz albums.
