Piccioni, Piero
Maestro Series, Vol. 1
The first issue in the 'Maestro Series' from Black Cat Records is a retrospective dedicated to one of the main names among the great Italian movie soundtrack composers, Piero Piccioni and covers his stunning career from his exotica recordings of the early sixties to the big-band beat of 'Camille 2000' (with an unreleased track from the movie soundtrack). The compilation includes an unreleased vocal track that Shawn Robinson (who, along with Lydia MacDonald was the composers vocalist of choice) performed for a bossa nova suite and many other previously unreleased tracks from the Maestro's incredible repertoire, to create a tribute that could be comparable to the legacy that Piero Piccioni left.
