Pharmakon
Maggot Mass (green)
'Maggot Mass,' Pharmakon's fifth album, marks the project's return after five years, evolving its power electronics and noise roots with industrial and punk influences. Created by Margaret Chardiet, the album reflects on humanity's destructive relationship with nature, questioning our systemic privilege, hierarchical values, and isolation from the natural world. Chardiet challenges the belief in human superiority, contrasting it with the ecological value of maggots, which transform death into life and sustain ecosystems. Through themes of grief, loss, and rebirth, the album envisions a future where humanity gives back to creation, embracing decay as a form of regeneration. Released on transparent seaweed green vinyl.
