Singer-songwriters Kate and Anna McGarrigle from Canada set standards above all with their dreamlike vocal harmonies. Her debut album 'Kate & Anna McGarrigle' (1975) was critically acclaimed and became a classic. The duo's most successful records also include 'Dancer With Bruised Knees' (1977), 'French Record' (1981) and 'Heartbeats Accelerating' (1990). The Pet Shop Boys, Emmylou Harris, Billy Bragg, Elvis Costello, The Corrs and many others have covered songs by the two Canadian sisters over the years. They also had guest appearances on albums by Emmylou Harris, Richard & Linda Thompson, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Joan Baez, The Chieftains and Marianne Faithfull among others. This CD has their 2005 performance in Bremen, Germany.
