Matthews, Dave -band-
Live In New York 1994 (2cd)
DMB's aesthetics are simple - either you're down with their amalgamation of soul-stirring, anthemic rock, smooth jazz, bluegrass, hacky-sack funk or you ain't, but whatever your angle, their breakthrough third album 'Under The Table And Dreaming' spawned set-list staples 'Ants Marching' and 'Jimi Thing' and brought the band worldwide fame. Immediately prior to the album's release, they hit the road for their first official national tour, lasting well over a year and including sold out theatre dates across the country, a trip to Europe, and two summers playing on the main stage of the H.O.R.D.E. Festival. By the fall of '95, when the band returned to the studio to record its next album, 'Under The Table And Dreaming' had been certified four times platinum by the RIAA. Rox Vox revisits their legendary performance from the Irving Plaza, New York on July 28, 1994 with a fully restored and professionally remastered original WKCR-FM radio broadcast.
