Lady Of The Morning (live Recordings 1971-1972)
After the disbandment of the most iconic guitar group of all time, The Shadows, in 1970, its two leading members, Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch, joined forces with Australian musician John Farrar to form the trio - Marvin, Welch & Farrar. In this lineup, they offered something entirely different from what their fans were accustomed to: a meticulously harmonized, melodic, and sophisticated brand of folk-rock heavily influenced by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Undoubtedly, this was the most ambitious and artistically intriguing project involving members of The Shadows, yet, as often happens with such ventures, it failed to achieve the popularity it truly deserved. Between 1971 and 1972, the trio released two LPs and three singles. However, it has since come to light that they left behind much more material, some of which is featured on this CD, making it a significant addition to the band's discography. The CD is filled with live recordings from 1971-1972. The compilation has been curated to ensure that no track appears more than once on the album. It appears that all recordings were sourced from audience tapes, as no professionally preserved live recordings of the band are known to exist. However, at least half of the album boasts very decent sound quality. Notably, a significant portion of the setlist features songs from The Shadows' repertoire. All tracks have been meticulously remastered, with speed adjustments and rebalancing of instrumental parts where feasible. The release comes in a laminated, fold-out card sleeve with a special disc envelope.
