London Dri
Western Skies: L.a. Psychedelic '67-'69
Fourth press of 100 hand-numbered copies in red cover. On vinyl, this great release collects the recordings of L.A.'s late '60s psychedelic band LONDON DRI! Included are both sides of the group's sole 7-inch for Yobo Records, 'Life In Your Hand' b/w 'Dona, Dona'. The remaining nine cuts, unissued back in the day ('67-'69), offer an exciting cocktail of garage vibes and west-coast folkrock, with traces of Arthur Lee's LOVE, IRON BUTTERFLY, CLEAR LIGHT and THE BYRDS. Among the most notable tracks we find 'This Is Life', which basically is London Dri's version of the Caretakers Of Deceptions' legendary garage/psych classic 'X+Y= 13'. The LP is presented in a full colour paste-on-sleeve with an LP-sized booklet that includes rare pics and the band history as told by Mike Dugo of 60sgarage.com. A very relevant record for any serious '60s psych collector!
