Kurvy Cesi
Sneci Med
Three years ago Kurvy Cesi happened to polarize the local hc/punk community with their smash debut album 'We Are Family.' Their chaotic cosmic noise rock sound combined with hallucinatory vocals tickled the ears of many. Many loved it, and few, let's say, did not really appreciate the extra mile Kurvy Cesi took to distance them from standards. All together mixed with unique artwork of their singer Jan Ulicny, their debut album happened to be a cult classic and must have for fans of challenging noise rock music rooted in the fruitful history of the genre established by labels such as Skin Graft, GLS or Gravity Records. Their sophomore album 'Snecí Med' (Snail Honey) takes the concept a few steps farther than on the debut. Their performance is tighter, louder and the ever present vocal drifts upon this ensemble like a clown infested nightmare above good night sleep. This is just good old energy ridden and punishing mind-reformatting listen. And if you could not take your eyes away from their debut album artwork, just you wait on this one. The vinyl edition of 'Snecí Med' is a practically portable art installation full of thoughtful artwork once again confirming that Kurvy Cesi are absolutely one of a kind.
