King Tubby & The Aggrovators
Shalom Dub
King Tubby, a pioneering figure in dub music, collaborated closely with producer Bunny 'Striker' Lee to help give life to the genre. Tubby, who had a strong background in electronics, accidentally created the dub music when an engineer forgot to include the vocal track during a recording session. Tubby's early dub albums, including 'Dub From The Roots,' 'The Roots Of Dub,' and 'Brass Rockers,' became foundational to the genre. These albums featured his innovative mixing techniques and collaborations with top musicians, marking the first official releases under the name King Tubby. In these albums is where he mixed it with the horn going in and out in a dub way and he created another record 'Shalom Dub' where he mixed the versions as they were off forty fives. This CD release features two bonus tracks that the original (and reissue) '75 release does not include.
