Kauan
Pirut
Re-press! The bizarre, cult, underground post-metal band KAUAN returns to their funeral doom roots, with their fifth album, entitled 'PIRUT'. The band abandoned its metal stylings after its first album, in search of a more peaceful, post-rock sound. 'PIRUT' immediately strikes an angry chord, beginning a single-track, 40-minute, funeral doom "opera", that weaves in and out of destruction and beauty, separated into eight chapters. This is a welcome return to the band's origins that its cult following has been waiting for. This is the first time KAUAN appears as a full band, previously they were a two-person studio project. As well, the band suffered an experience while mixing the album, in their hometown of Chelyabinsk, Russia. Meteorites started crashing down from the sky and destroying the area. The artwork for the album was created to mirror this experience
