Hughes, William Odell
Cruisin' (white)
Singer-songwriter William Odell Hughes met by chance saxophonist, clarinetist and producer Wendell Harrison, who was impressed by William's compositions. Together they worked on an album. William Odell Hughes' debut album has all the characteristics of an '80s album: filled with funky playful beats and has excellent soulful honey-dipped vocals. On 'Cruisin' the listener is treated to both mellow soul sounds and electrifying disco boogie and Wendell Harrison's instantly recognizable flute-playing and synth pads give the record a warm, relaxed groove. Tidal Waves Music now proudly presents the first ever vinyl reissue of this rare funk and soul album, originally released in 1981 on WenHa records. This unique record comes as a deluxe 180 gram white vinyl edition with OBI strip.
