Hopkins, Lightnin'
The Aladdin Singles 1947-1948
A collection of A- and B-sides which the legendary Lightnin' Hopkin recorded for Aladdin Records during 1946-1948. These early performances are considered as seminal works, not only for Hopkins's career, but also for the whole history of country blues. In most cases we hear Lightnin' alone with his guitar, but there are a few tracks on which he is joined by pianist Wilson "Thunder" Smith or some unknown drummer.
