This young Scandinavian quintet impresses due to their talent to understand and integrate different styles and music languages. Their influences include (or at least seem to) Dutch Free Jazz, various forms of folk music, and the music of composers like Webern and Sciarrino. The uninhibited and energetic sound of Honest John develops with great agility through the combination of o0pen forms and complex structures. The group's original musical path in the end is a perfectly coherent one.
