Hipbone Slim & The Kneejerks
Get A Move On!
The Kneejerks' 3rd album and their absolute best so far! All killer garage beat surf rockin' blasts! This release features 16 toppermost tunes including 15 original compositions written by their prolific band leader Sir Bald (whose music has featured in 'Stranger Things' and more) plus one jaw dropping cover version! The album kicks off with said cover, a ferocious butt kickin' rendition of Gene Vincent's later era classic 'Bird Doggin'.' The perfect song for the guys to take on! The tracks then continue to wind across all rough, ready rockin'n'punkin' styles from late '50s rock'n'roll and R'n'B through '60s beat, surf and garage, '70s punk and '80s Medway sounds. This shouldn't be surprising given drummer Bruce's background (Milkshakes, Headcoats not to mention two albums with Link Wray!). Along the way the 'Jerks' deliver all manner of the rawest rhythm'n'beat nuggets from monstrous Link Wray-influenced rippers ('Evil Kneevil,' Loggerheads'), through wild and woolly organ and fuzz driven 'Back From The Grave'-garage punkers ('When Push Comes To Shove' and 'What Did You Say') to drunken frat-rock party anthems ('I Want It All' and 'Make ItAalright'). There's also the raw 'Bo' meets 'Wolf' tinged harp wailin' R'n'B stomper 'Hell And Higtide,' the super slinky and moody Johnny Kidd-esque 'I Hear An Echo' plus the primal '64' Really Got Me'/'All Day And Night' Kinks riffin' 'Won't Let You Down.' There's of course a couple of out and out totally dance floor friendly twist'n'jivin' rockers like 'Get A Move On!' and 'Rocket Fuel' to get your party started! You even get Baldie's finest and wildest ever Dick Dale meets Eddie & The Showmen reverb dripping surf instro blaster, the totally wigged out 'Revelino' to boot! Not content with bass, keyboard and backing vocals duties the multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist Pete Scoundrel of Thee Cybermen fame also weighs in on bonus lead vocals on the exotic 'Catania'! A must for any fans of all things raw and proper rhythm, beat, surf, garage, rock'n'roll! All recorded at Gizzard vintage analogue studio in London for a proper sound. Undoubtedly Hipbone Slim aka Sir Bald's finest album yet! Everyone a scorcher!
