Once upon a time, Helga Gabriel was sequestered away in the far reaches of the Swedish hinterland, where she sang in choirs. Her voice drifted like birds through an evening mist, chanting psalms amidst birch and pine. In 2019 she traveled to North Yorkshire, where she met childhood friends and a multi-instrumentalist. The band Helga was born and drew on many different influences: Swedish folk, progressive metal, post-rock, pop and black metal. Their debut album 'Wrapped In Mist' summons formidable drumming, spectral strings and chugging riffs into lamentations on mortality and metal health.
