Heilige!
Riverside
"An Italian project completely shrouded in darkness, Heilige! is helmed by the enigmatic Heinrich Wilhelm, and this should be its first release. 'Riverside' is a record built on small, short-lived sonic nods that are placed in juxtaposition with naturalistic and cinematic dark ambient aimed at materializing images before fears. The titles of the four compositions and the few available illustrations open up a dark and nocturnal scenario, devoid of life and full of mystery. The sounds, always minimal and subtle, are repetitive ('River Of Silence') or laced with small movements on which light ambient echoes rest ('Secret Garden, Secret Delights'); Audio arrays or the sulky and somber panoramas of the much-vaunted dark ambient are judiciously avoided in favor of a soundtrack that seems reminiscent of the lo-fi of some names past (Morthound), but even more so of the tones and visions of some video games in the genre ('Silent Hill' above all), especially given the connection to specific situations and the desire to describe scenarios. Released only on cassette in an edition of just 50 numbered copies, 'Riverside' is a little debut gem worth having for those who like tasteful and inspiredly constructed darkness." ~Darkroomzine
