Goth infused no-fi synth-pop by an obscure, shortlived late '80s band from Essex, consisting of three teenagers. The 11 tracks on 'Tree Spirits' feature chunky drum machine patterns, playfully eerie synth melodies, and identical twins Tina and Gina's stark, nursery rhyme-esque vocals. The lyrical content ranges from dreary to grim, exploring existential despair, sexual violence and death through an acerbic, feminist lens.
