Emtidi
Emtidi
Emtidi have become known mainly through their LP "Saat" which was released on the Pilz label in 1972. Back in 1970, a very small edition of their firstling, called simply "Emtidi", had appeared on the small Thorofon label. While there is to be heard some quite traditional folk with acoustic guitar and English lyrics on the LP front side, reminiscent maybe of the early Bob Dylan, the flip side already sounds far more psychedelic, with an abundant use of the flute. The male-female duet singing, all in English, is pleasing to the ear. In 1995, a bootleg CD of "Emtidi" (Germanofon 941057) was released in Luxemburg; it was copied from LP and made up cheaply. The Garden of Delights edition at hand has been taken from the master tape, and in the booklet you can find pretty much all one could wish to know about Emtidi.
