Bystanders
The Live Sessions 1966-1968
'The Live Sessions 1966-1968' captures The Bystanders in their quest for the elusive hit before the decade moulded them into one of Britain's finest progressive rock acts with the addition of Deke Leonard in late 1968 - Man. While The Bystanders' material highlighted here may be rather conservative compared to Man's erotic outpouring, these sessions form a part of the journey that the group took to make it to becoming progressive superstars. The Bystanders' various appearances for the BBC from 1966 to 1968 display fascinating renditions of the group's classic singles, coupled with many previously unreleased, exclusive tracks, never recorded outside of the BBC. Ultimately, these recordings are a valuable addition to the Bystanders' legacy and it is their survival that heralded the birth of Man. Fully restored and professionally remastered original broadcasts with comprehensive liners charting their rise to eventual fame, coupled with a plethora of archival memorabilia. All tracks performed live on Top of the Pops. TRACKS: 26th July 1966: 01.
