Brotzmann/oliver/kellers Featuring Manfred Schoof
In A State Of Undress
The interaction between Manfred Schoof and Peter Brötzmann may reference late-'60s Ornette Coleman and harmolodics, Brötzmann rasping and intertwining with playful melodies over relatively straightforward rhythm structures. On the moody 'Berlin Grey For A Rainy Day' the more subtle aspects of Schoof and Brötzmann's playing are shown to good effect. This album is part of Be! Jazz's reissue series of long-lost classics from the legendary vaults of FMP Records, presented in restored original packaging and newly remastered for optimal sound. Personnel: Manfred Schoof: trumpet, flugelhorn, Peter Brötzmann: saxophone, tarogato, Jay Oliver: double bass, Willi Kellers: drums. Recorded in Berlin, March 1989. Limited to 200 copies.
