Originally released in 1969 and here reissued on CD, the sole solo-album by the excellent vibraphonist offers a stunning mixture of jazz, folk and psychedelia. 'Sunset Painter' comprises originals as well as covers of songs by The Who, Bob Dylan and others. In 1968 Blessing had also contributed to Bill Plummer & The Cosmic Brotherhood's legendary exotica album.
